So are you saying that the PCI latency tool fixed the stuttering problem for you? I have a PCI-E card, will this tool work for me?

It does not affect PCI-e based systems. Only AGP.

It did not fix the stuttering problem, but it gave my system a mild overall performance boost.

By an cance are any of you using a "dual core" processor? Maybe thats the problem?

I do have to admit that although the stuttering problem has not been fixed, all the tweaking and adjusting I have been doing to get rid of it has given me about a 20fps increase in the rest of the game. Kind of bittersweet, huh?:hmm:

Yeah..I feel the same way. I put tons of time and effort into tweaking my system when deep down I know that it's just bugs...

But I do appreciate the increased performance all of my effort is yielding.

I hate it when I step over the edge and buy new hardware hoping it will be the magical solution knowing FULL well that it will not fix the problem.

my bad tho guys i always thought it could be video issues but after reading all the posts and the specs of others systems i have to say its gotta be a programming/coding issue (eg go pilot and experience major fps drop, but dive into gunner from there and major fps increase ).

Until EA says something about it i dont think any number of our tweaks are gona pay off (however they have made performance of other games better) looks like the "bane of the tank commander" has been banjoed.

Talus I get the same thing in SF, jump in pilot seat and get ready for a slide show, rest of the game runs fine. I am not sure what it is, it is very frustrating though because I have a nice system as well.

BadLizzard, you should add this to your master bug list. In my opinion, this is a pretty serious bug, especially if you like to fly a helo. Maybe even send the bug list to EA. I dont think that they feel this is a common problem and may not think its worth their time to fix it in a patch.

Re: Piloting attack chopper LAG in SF

Just FYI, my troubleshooting ticket with EA has ended. After a VERY long correspondence back and forth trying to fix this problem, EA Tech Support had this to say

                                "Hello,

I'm sorry the issue persists, unfortunately, I have no further suggestions for you at this time. We have exhausted all of the standard troubleshooting which can be done remotely, and at this point the game should be running properly but is not. This could be due to a lack of the ability to test further hardware before game release (as in your case the Dual Core Proc & the same for Pentium D's). If you continue to troubleshoot your machine on your own and solve the problem, please drop us a line.

I also hope that this issue will get addressed in the pending patch. Sorry this has inconvenienced you.

Please respond back if you have anymore technical issues concerning this matter.
Happy Holidays & thank you for contacting Electronic Arts!

                                Tak"

I think if enough of us ask them for help on the same problem, then they would consider this more of a priority than I feel it currently is. just my 2 cents.
