"The first x seems to control the size of the font. A 1 there would make tiny text, in comparison to the large text made with a 6 (maximum)."
i was trying to make the words a little smaller than §3, so i put §2 and it made no difference, it seems there really isnt much of a difference between 2 and 3 . so i guess its more like 1,3,6 to really see a difference. or is there? maybe im wrong, maybe someone can make some shots and see if theres dirrence from 1 - 6."

Just for those of you who were going to ask this. Here's a question I got through IM earlier today:
Evening. Sorry to botther you. Would it be possible to alter my localization file to hilight when one of my [BIA] team members joins a server. thanks in advance.
My reply:
There is no text on the screen for when a player joins the server. Thus making it impossible to even highlight when ANYONE joins the server, let alone someone in your clan.
ok, im tryin to edit these lines but i dont know what are they, please tell me what are they for and what vehicle / infantry uses it.

Off the top of my head, the difference between hmg[GUNNAME] and just [GUNNAME] is that hmg are mounted, while the ones without the hmg prefix are handheld. As for the type 95, I believe the middle one is a description of the weapon (BFHQ?) rather than the kill message name.

These killmessages were all omitted from the final version of the game afaik. I believe these were intended to be killmessages from the mounted jeep/vodnik guns but I'm not really sure.

Well the latter is the PLA sub machine gun for the AT kit. The other is a supposed HMG variant that was omitted from release as well.

"Type 95 - family of 5.8x42 mm bullpup design assault rifle, carbine and squad machine gun."
The hmg was omitted afaik, the type95mg is the squad machine gun (LMG) variant and the type95 is the carbine variant, BF2 decided to use the factory name for the exported version (QBZ-97) for the kill message, I assume to avoid confusion with the LMG that the PLA support kit.
You were half right. The mounted guns are designated stationaryrpk74 and stationarym249, and use very similar killmessages as their hand held counterparts by default. These are the only 2 killmessages I've ever seen from a mounted gun in 400 + hours so I just assume all the other HMG messages were thrown out and omitted in the release like the laser designator and the LCAC.
