I hope you understand what im saying, its like its in Counter Strike.
You can make the 2nd player name orange, but not red. (blue text killed orange text) IIRC, the (blue text killed blue text) already happens when you teamkill by default in the original files.

    Sniper - M24
    Assault - xxx etc?

Would be great for me at least :b
In theory you could do this, but when you switched to unlocks, the names would not switch with it. It would read Spec Ops - M4, even though you have the SCAR-L highlighted.

I cant seen to get the weapon name to show up, so im guessing it might not be possible unless someone else knows how and could help me out.

    Not possible with current knowledge.

Is there a way to add a NEW *.utxt file?

Because I want to add all the changes in a seperate file.
Original files should not be overwritten, but their changed content.

I tried it several times but it didn't work. BF2 always loads the original files but not the new one.
      The new file alone works.
I also don't want to add all content of all files in the new one.

        In short... no. :p

        Just edit the existing ones.

          You are wrong.
          Finally I got it :p

The new file needs to have a name that is before the main *.utxt file in the alphabet. (I know bad explanation)

          But here an example:
"A.utxt" has a higher priority than "B.utxt" in Battlefield -> Content of A will be loaded.

Changes in "Aenglish.utxt" won't be overwritten by "english.utxt"
You don't need to overwrite your original files anymore, you are able to put only your changed lines into a NEW file.

I'll test a little more now, but it should work.

Re: Having Fun with the Localization Files (v1.3)

            Hello.

I've downloaded the basic files for this 'mod' (The ones that work with the 1.3 patch) put it all into the correct directories and when I play it doesn't seem to be showing everything like the screenshots say.

Do I have to edit the files myself? At the moment it's only showing the Assault Rifle kills in colour etc.

            Any ideas?

            Cheers.

I guess I should have included my usual " not with current knowledge"... hehe :p

Nice find... man! You are definately more persistant than I am. Keep at it and let us know, I'm sure everyone who enjoys customizing their files will appreiciate you for it.

If I get time I'll try it out the way you explained.

                  I changed:

                  HUD_TEXT_TEAMKILL_PUNISHED
                  in English.utxt

to just a bunch of spaces for the text :-) I no longer see the message "You were punished."...

For whatever reason makes me feel better what I don't know.

By "these modified localization files"... who's files are you speaking of? I'm assuming SaladFork's files since you guys hosted his stuff. :p

Because I'm not affiliated with either leauge I can't answer you, but this has been asked before, and was answered somewhat here.

You can repatch 1.3 fully and it should overwrite your files with new ones, or wait for 1.4 and patch fully.
Otherwise you will need to get a copy of the originals from someone. PM me if you can't find a copy and I'll host one for you.

Stupid question but i will ask anyhow ,

The files i have downloaded , are they the replacement ones or do ihave to tinker with them .

The reason i ask is that i have replaced them but it still shows the same messages as Vanilla ?
