    Silliest server rules you've seen...

The absolute silliest server rule I've seen....

    "No punishing for accidental TK's"

Ok, WTF? Now how is someone supposed to enforce that let alone prove anything? I can see everyone stopping on the server to discuss if a TK was accidental or not. Not.

    No nade spamming.
    No prone jump.
    No bunny hop.
    No stealing enemy vehicles.

My favorite was "You will be kicked if you're caught using C4 at flags."

They thought it was a "no skill" form of defense.

IF you see the screen light up with 3+ TKs going off along the lines of '<soandso> Teamkills <BlindIdiot>' and then that person suddenly gets kicked from the server ... it means that some thoughtless fool drove over an AT mine and decided to punish for it.

That's why they have those kind of rules setup.

No spawn camping on Karkand(not really silly but should still be a violation of EA's rules).

It's usually pretty apparent what's accidental and what's intentional. I think it's a great rule. It really weeds the kiddies out of the server if the admins enforce it.

Re: Silliest server rules you've seen...

on my server I have, among other thing:
"Punishing for noob actions like running over friendly mines will get you kicked"
              and
"Do not punish for accidental teamkills"

I don't think these are silly rules at all and to be honest I only consider the first one to be a rules as such whilst the second is more of an advisory.

But If I am playing there and some tit runs over my mine with full knowledge that he is going to die and punishes, I will kick 'em.

No swearing... I mean, what the hell? It's a game where you kill people with guns for gods sake.

If people want clean language on their server then fine no problem, go somewhere else if you want to sound off.

As per the topic starter of this post says is a silly rule, we also have that as a rule and like DrunkenPirate said its more of an advisory or to try and re-educate gamers in being fair and responsible. I don't think we have kicked anyone for it so far however people do get warnings all the time and if it happened to me by the same person twice after being warned about it I would have no hesitation at all in kicking them.

If you don't like a server's rules pick another server there are plenty to choose from. Don't come here and whinge about getting kicked from a server because you broke their rules.

We have a variation of the wording on this rule. No attacking/spawn camping/base raping uncappable mains until last flag. Only spec ops should enter an uncap to blow the commanders assest then should leave. If its no spawn camping any base then thats not right.

Why do we have this as a rule not just on Karkand but any map with uncappable mains? Its weak gameplay only further encouraged by the ranking system to get some cheap kills. On Karkand for example why do you think the USMC has 2 uncappable bases? It because the MEC starts off with a massive advantage having all the bases to start with. Until the USMC gets a flag the MEC can attack uncaps. As soon as the USMC get a flag the MEC should concentrate on taking all flags back before attacking/camping/base raping an uncap. It makes for a much more enjoyable game and is no way against EA's ranked server rules. Again if you don't like or will not abide by a server's rules then don't play on that server. Problem solved!

hehe, yeah, saw that one before. another was no c4 at the top of the flag.

i've been in servers where they say no swearing, but if you type BS or WTF, they still consider it swearing. this one server i go to kicks you the 1st time you swear.

no bunny hopping, no dolphin diving, etc. stuff like that sounds like a good rule to me. damn exploiters.

                            about the swearing:

There is probably a couple of young kids playing this game, its common courtesy to teach them better, and not act like a retard by cursing.

The game is rated teen, its common courtesy for parents to be more responsible
