I agree. This expansion looks like a big load of bull ****. Your paying for, what should be, an 80% upgrade to the orginal BF2 according to the price difference. Dont get me wrong (or do) but I dont think that some second rate new weapons, a couple new vehicles (like the orginial was short on them in the first place), and some simple maps is filling that 80%.

This expansion looks worth about 10-15 dollars. Who ever pays 40 bucks is a fool.

I can understand the idea of stats building to get more out of the game. Beyond picking up unlocks though, I dont see any reason to play on ranked servers now.


Unlocks bring a new element to the game. The ranks have NO impact on gameplay other than commander selection.

I have all the unlocks that I want.

If you need to look at your BF2 stats all the time to validate your life, you've got all lot more problems to deal with in the REAL WORLD, and you should start spending more time dealing with that instead of playing so much BF2....

If you're so concerned if other people buy an add-on for a videogame I'd say you've got a bigger problem buddy.

Yes its ******** there should be way more new stuff. But lets face it, those who love the game that much are just suckers for new content. I would probably buy it if it just had one new gun. If it was good enough.

£16 aint that much and the main things im looking forward to is the new guns and maps.

thats how long Afghani_BattleDonkey has played BF2... now i have to say, you don't usally play unless you enjoy it. This expansion brings in new things to enjoy to the game that you seem to already like to play. I mean this expansion will be sick as hell as long as you have an open mind to it, plus its only $30. As said on another post thats like working 3 hours in most jobs. Hmmm lets do that math... 5 hours of work = $50 = BF2 = 150 hours of fun... i think thats a pretty good deal don't you think? so 3 hours of work = $30 = BF:SF = ??? hours of fun... until you play it, don't knock it, it discourages people from buying a potentally very fun game.

No, I'm concerned unless EA/Dice add content to this expac, the next one will cost $60 and will feature catupults as the new vehicle and every soldier will have the option to throw rocks at the enemy.

If it discourages people, then GOOD. It'll save people the hassle of wasting money. And the key word in your statement: potentially. BF2 had that too, it didn't live up to it and from the Special Forces reviews, it's doomed too (just as the 1942 expansions).

I don't care, I was bored and felt like flamin' your a_S_s. hehe. I'm all for free speech, especially in forums. I understand your frustration, however, whinning about it (you're not the only one) is annoying.

Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of things wrong with BF2. However, they got a lot of things right. I believe most people that will buy the expansion pack, buy to extend their satisfaction of a good, not great title.

Apparently you do enjoy BF2, how else can you explain 150 hours of gameplay?

I will buy SF, probably on it's release date. I'll tell you what you're missing.

So are you saying I can squeeze this game in right next to The Road to Rome, and the Secret Weapons Expansion Packs? Cause they got about a week of playing time before I went back to regular BF1942. I will be buying SF expansion pack pretty much for the new maps.

i played more than 250 hours on BF2 and most of the time i screamed eveytime i died :hmm:

Mods, can you please close these worthless threads? No one cares if Billy from California doesn't buy the game. No one cares if he does. It's an expansion pack with new maps, new weapons, new styles of play, and new vehicles. That sounds like a winner to me.
