Re: Kamikaze: legitimate tactic
Dont get me wrong, I think it's great when servers create rules and such because it creates variety in the gameplay and forces smacktards out.
What I dont think is great, is when servers create rules that are very vague and put the decision in the admin's hands. The decision should never be in the admins hands.
The players answer to the admin. The admin answers to the rules... not the other way around. If the rules answer to the admin, which is so common around these servers, what ends up happening is the admin gets ****ed off at getting killed and can't imagine how the player did it (because he obviously can't, or there is some flaw in the game's netcode that makes it look like the player cheated) and just bans the person for no good reason except that he had a hunch that the person was doing something wrong.
Or maybe I'm just asking for too much. When BF1942 was out with the DC mod, I barely ever posted complaints in forums because I spent that time playing the game and having fun.
The BF2 game has created so many stupid annoyances with the medals, badges, points, etc that people dont play for fun anymore--they play for points. Hell, I play for points too sometimes... it's impossible not to play without caring about points all of the time.
I guess all we can do is bicker and argue and nothing will change anyway since so many people believe that the M203, bunny hopping, ramming, etc is "cheap". I'm so glad I don't live the life of the idiot who claims things are "cheap" in a video game... it must be very depressing.
And BTW, how the hell are you going to say that it's ok to ram someone if you jump out of the plane in the last second? lol, it's exactly the same concept. Or how about this, what if I jump out of the plane but it was too late and I die? Then I get kicked? Or what if I jump out, pull my chute and land -- then instantly get shot by someone. Who really knows what is what? Do you see my point?
