Is it just me... or does (some) pilots have incredible high double standards...
Subject A : Experienced pilot who can fly and dont need Flares because.. well.. AA is crap anyway
Subject B : Every player on the other team... Ground pounders.. cant fly.. they dont like it..
A rapes B.... someone from B gets so tired in the end that he takes Plane and rams A.. because.. well... thats all his limited flight experience allows him to do..
A flames B for being skill less because he rammed him/her
SO... basically A thinks its perfectly ok to rape B even though its perfectly clear that B have no chance of defending themselves, but finds it unfair when B finally fights back the only way possible...
So here we are with ppl (Pilots) attacking the poor skill less ground pounders of being unfair and whatnot.... Funny enough im sure the same pilots will claim that no balancing is needed when it comes to interactions between Planes and AA... because... well.. as they say : "learn to fly noobs ... hahaha and HA"
This concludes this days seminar of "DOUBLE STANDARDS FROM PILOTS VS. THEIR VICTIMS"
Pretty good Moke. It reminds me of the movie The Battle of the Bulge. At the end, the german Tiger tanks were heading for the fuel depot and the americans, who were hopelessly outgunned, had to start rolling fuel barrels down the hill and pouring fuel down the hill and then ignited it all and forced the germans to flee, thus winning the battle.
I know the real battle didn't happen exactly like that, but if you were an american watching the movie you probably started cheering because the poor outclassed soldiers used the only trick they had available to them and they won the battle. Same thing in BF2. Sure its nice to practice flying and get better. But in the meantime if your team is getting its ass handed to them, and ramming can help your team, then that is just fighting like a tiger and doing what you can to win at the time.

It's not just pilots - most people are hypocrites. Everyone has their own set of standards around what is fair game and what isn't. Like I mentioned in an earlier post, everyone has a comfort zone, and anything that violates it will be painted as cheap or underhanded, even though most players employ similarly cheap tactics in other facets of the game.
So your a n00b who can't use the gun, good for you, next time step away from the plane and let someone who isn't a waste of resources get in.
No, he's a n00b who acts fast and knows how to use effective strategies to help his team win.
People call things cheap when you are getting kills by using tactics everyone already knows. For example, everyone knows that you are nearly undefeatable in a fire fight if you can bunny hop and shoot the M203 at your legs. It's a strategy everyone knows, yet a strategy none the less. Play a game for a really long time and any tactics that don't involve good marksman ship are labelled as cheap.
I think there are two groups of players. The tactical mines and those who gain victory through aim/reflexes. Both have a downside. If you're aim/reflexes are too good people will call you a hacker. On the other hand, good tactics are often called cheap by.
I draw the line at spawn camping though, because someone can never get out of their spawn point simply because the enemy team loaded the map faster than them, or because they joined half-way through the game.
That's why I got banned from multiple servers for "whoring the sniper rifle". My score was at the top of the list, pretty good teamwork score (cant expect the best from a sniper). I was accused of cheating. Another server banned me for not being "useful to the team", yet, I captured the first 2 flags on Karkand on my own.
Every single one of these rules you people create can always be a simple mistake. If someone accidentally rams someone else 6 times in a row and says sorry -- they'll be kicked anyway.
If someone gets really lucky 10 times in a row with amazing headshots with the sniper rifle. They'll be kicked for cheating.
If someone consistently kills the same guy (luckily being the clan admin) because their tactics force them to always run into each other, he'll be kicked for whoring (whether it be tank, apc, grenade launcher, or even grenade).
...
You would not get booted from "whoring a sniper rifle" on our server.
I never said that multiple accidental rams would be booted - only booted if they are intentional.
Overall on our server the rules do seem to work - and the players do seem to police themselves. I am not saying that works on all server - just seems to work on ours.
It helps when you have a steady player base - the retards point themselves out right away - and when 31 of the 32 players on the server are fed up with your retard tactics, you are not welcomed back.

Key difference being the soldiers did not light THEMSELVES on fire and run at the tanks trying to blow them up - like what a rammer does.
The rammer sacrafices not only themselves, but the team resource. The soldiers you spoke of used a non-traditional tactic and won from the result. They however did not resort to kamikaze tactics.
Fair enough. So if I aim a jet at you and bail out first, and you get rammed, is that acceptable?
If you bail and live - yes IMHO. I am sure that has been done.
I have done it with empty, well damaged planes/helos, into ground targets. Usually as a last resort if I know I cannot make it back for repairs - rather than just bail and waste it - I try to at least get rid of an enemy or two.
They should remove getting points for kamikaze. So that the intentional pointwhoring kamikaze does not happen.
Now that won't stop me ramming in the cases I described, but I don't want it to.
What can I say, sharqi penisula with the mec chopper and no cobra gives a new meaning to having your ass handed to you in a game. if you're US. So i'm going to do everything in my power to kill that mec chopper.
