I doubt they would actually be much different from what's already in the game. I mean look at it the way it is now; Cobra is owning hardcore :) Why do you think Apache would be any better, or different for that matter? It will probably just be a heavier cobra; which would make it identical to Z10 (the Chinese chopper). I very much doubt that it would get a powerful cannon like the Havok (the russian chopper MEC uses), because real life Apache doesn't have one. Also, I very much doubt it will get hellfires instead of the TV missles we're used to. Probably for the same reason the Super Cobra doesn't have hellfires; they would be just too easy to use.

OMFG!! are u bee=ing funny? Do u know what and how many advantages the Apache has over the Cobra? I wont even get into it, but I know every military Vet in here would back me up on that, and Im sure the DEVS would take this into consideration when developing the Apache. And correct me if I'm wrong, but the Apache's chain gun fires 50 caliber rounds correct? LOL that right there is a perfect example. Just a tad more damage than the smaller projectiles the Cobra fires. BTW, I forgot to mention I wouldn't mind seeing the M240 Bravo either

You're not getting this. You see, no matter how wonderful/****ty Cobra and Apache are in the world of atoms, it has no relevance to BF2. Why? It's just a game! They can make any vehicle have any stats they want. They could make a buggy shoot laser beams if they really wanted to.

And of course, in interests of balance, the Apache will be kept as similar to the existing attack helos as possible.

On the side note, don't even compare Apache vs. Cobra. They were designed for different things. Plus, Cobra is a generation behind. Now, Apache vs. Havok is a valid argument, and I'm sure helicopter fanboys would be prepared to passionately argue on the subject until it loses all meaning.

I dont like this crap at all. SF shouldn't count as an expansion. New map + a days work of new vehicles and weapons.

What saddens me is, that the majority of the weapons are the same as bf2, and there isnt a new sniper rifle. Sigh.

I'll buy it anyway.

I paid 49.99 bucks for Battlefront II, which has the same units, same vehicles, same maps, same graphic engine (except some jedi and a coulple new space ships), with non-functoning maps. You will be glad that you don't have to pay 49.99 for a day worth of stuff.

apache's chaingun doesn't fire 50 caliber rounds, it fires 25mm rounds. Don't even try to be a military buff.

I don't think we'll see very many engi's like in bf2 since the expansion seems more infantry based and less vehicle based. Still sucks that they don't get any toys.. I wish we could bash with the wrench.

Hmm, my confidence in the expansion has been dented slightly. I love playing engineer, now I am probably going to have to choose anti-tank as my primary class as, of course, I wanna use the grapple hook.

Before I read this, I just assumed every class would have a graple hook and zip line. Oh well. Expect to see 80% spec ops soldiers in this expansion until the novelty wears off and they start to disperse to the other kits.

So, the spec ops use is going to slide back to about 45-50%? IDK what people like about spec ops. I mean, my favorite is AT. If I didn't have that, my 2nd favorite is probably medic. I see so many peopleplaying spec ops though... /wonders why

Well I am only guessing that that will happen. I think when BF2 first came out, there were tonnes of spec ops players. Now though, I think there is an even spread between most of the classes.

I just wish the engy would get some gadget, as mentioned by a poster in this thread, a pair of wire cutter to snip the zip line maybe! :) I am assuming that the zip lines can be dismantled by the engy with the spanner, or the automatically disapeer after so long.

Well actaully, according to the AH-64 page at army-technology.com...
"A 30mm automatic Boeing M230 Chain Gun is located under the fuselage. It provides a rate of fire of 625 rounds per minute. The helicopter has capacity for up to 1,200 rounds of ammunition."

I'm a twenty year Army vet, though not a "buff", but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night and I can Google with the best of em!
