Re: Chopper Pilot's Guide to being a GREAT gunner

All very well said and done

But, from my experience in a chopper as a pilot as well as a gunner, theres rarely enough time to do half the things you have suggested as far as repairing and resupplying goes. So that generally nullifies the class choice thing... The way we do it in south africa is either sniper or anti tank when flying a chopper. On the odd occasion when being shot down or bailing out and surviving you can take a chance and take a pot shot at the pilot/gunner of the enemy chopper or lob a rocket at it... I as well and 99% of the community have splashed choppers with anti tank rockets

But im not one to criticise, so very well summarised and layed out for the rest of us that enjoy manipulating a chopper to the greater good of the team.

Its a tad unfortunate that us south africans are restricted to our local servers, playing internationally may make for some awsome fun and so on! :)
Anyways, enjoy the depleted uranium autocannons etc

What type of controller would you recommend for a gunner? Mouse and keyboard? Joystick?

i've found with my g5 that when i use tv missiles if i set it on the low dpi setting, aiming is soooooooooooo much easier.

Mouse, and slow clicks with the fire button for aiming. Fast clicking isn't as effective.

And if you have a cheap pc and cant run geo and texture on high @ max distance stay out of the chopper. Nothing as annoying as seeing many enemies on foot as a pilot but your co-pilot doesnt see a damn thing, you better spawn as a lamppost in that case.

Excellent guide, Strega. Though I knew most of the areas you covered, it was informative to read it from a pilot's perspective. I'll keep a few of the things you mentioned in mind next time I gun.

                    Thanks for the good guide.

Hey Strega, we have to fly sometime.

I am both a pilot and a gunner, so I know what is going through each persons head at any time.

You think the same way as me when I pilot. I can't stand these retards that start shooting another chopper with their cannons also.

But yeah. I used to be mainly a gunner, but for the past 50 or so hours I have been a pilot, and I still gun alot.. so I haven't "lost it".

The thing that sucks though is my shitty internet lately. It's fast, but is really unstable for some reason lately. So I can't play for a while probably.

But yeah. My Xfire is xmetallicaxguitarstx and that is the same as my in-game name if you want to check.

Nice guide,I usually start whoring on everything with chaingun and I even didnt noticed thatt pilot is trying to lije mu up for a tv shot lo!
Usually I suck in TV rockets cause they move too fast and I cant line them up for a hit
