I hope you don't expect everyone to be the masterfull helo gunning lords of the battlefield in a pub server. This has just too much "I'm better than you do what I say" for my liking.

You need to be a good all round player in this game. Unfortunately (sp) you are not.
Anyone can be the BIG I AM in a helo. But try some ground work too.

TIP: Know where the TOW's are and shoot them soon as. It dont matter if no one is sitting on it. And always keep an eye from them spawning back. With a MEC chopper, its easy, just a shot or two. But with the others....ask your pliot :)

I never said I was some super uber pilot, my post just says what's important for a Pilot/Gunner Crew to be successful.
You say I'm not a good all around player??? WTF stats are you looking at??? Look at the # of Captured Flags, and Capture Assists, my averages are above yours. I'm not an all around player??? I'm no super hero, but saying I'm not an all around player is just retarded, as I'm quite sure you've NEVER seen me play. By saying that, you do realize that you are saying that you aren't an all around player too right? Purely based on stats, mine > yours. Nice job on that one genius.
Since you brought it up, here are my stats for everyone to see. Obviously a bit light on the kills since I am a pilot...I'm thinking a KD ratio better than 4:3 isn't so bad tough...
ahh, I love to listen to fellow chopper pilots giving a few tips. I also absolutely hate it when my gunner just sits on his chaingun shooting at every piece of armour possible.... Gunners that do that for me usually find themselves scuba diving instead of flying... :p
I got my ridiculous kill streak gunning for the best heli pilot I've ever seen on Zatar Wetlands. We capped the center, this guy (I think his clan tags were VX9) jumps in the Cobra, I jumped in as gunner and he flew like a gunner's dream.
Everything that I spotted, he hovered and gave me great line of sight. If I missed, he dropped missles on the target with astounding accuracy. When a plane was tracking us, he barrel-rolled the Cobra. We were never shot down once the whole time -- it was a gunner's wet dream, and I have this guide to thank for making me a better gunner!!
Having played most of the game as a vehicle/ground pounder, I have decide to learn the joys of the attach chopper. While I can fly fairly well, I am not accurate with the missiles. I am a better pilot from a gunner's point of view because I try and give them the opportunity to do their job.
The tips given help both a gunner and a pilot. I was playing yesterday and a guy who join our squad had the American attach chopper. He asked if any one wanted to gun, so I did. We were balanced as a pilot/gunner team. No one was better than the other so there weren't any egos getting in the way.
I did better than usual with the TV missile and he was thankful for my efforts/skill. We ended up playing the next round with just us two in the squad and did fairly good considering the low number of players in Kubra Dam.
Tips: Try teaching your pilot/gunner things while your are flying (if you are on comms/same squad). A pilot that is patient with his gunner will help too.
I also played some rounds of Zatar Wetlands in SP. It's easy to get the middle base and keep the chopper the whole round. I did this to practice with the missiles as a pilot. I then tried having a bot fly. Actually they are good pilots and will line you up for some good shots.
You can always instantly switch back to the pilot seat to go and repair the chopper because a bot will always fight to the chopper is almost dead, then bail out. In addition, they never run out of missiles as a pilot, so when you are out of TV missiles, take over and go reload your ammo.
Just like playing on line, there are always plenty of "people" (bots) that want to fly an attach chopper.

Well, ya just learn to fly I guess. It's all about having a good setup. I use a joystick and rudder pedals, and I rarely EVER crash. Very rare when I do, and I can pretty much put that helo anywhere I want, with little effort. That's just from years of flight sim and real flying experience, hehe.

I use a mouse and keyboard as I presume most people do and would call myself a decent chopper pilot (though my stats may not reflect it).
To hover: You may need to tap on the acceleration (forward) key so your chopper won't slowly descend. The trickiest part may be keeping chopper level. Try and use the HUD to keep your nose level with the ground. It does take practice and with it, you will do it with out thinking about it.
To land: A combination of slowing down and bringing up the front of the chopper a bit at the when you get close to the ground. This will help you to slow down. When you get to the point of not going forward any more, you can level off the nose and set the chopper down.
A thing to remember while landing is to watch out for any obstacles in your way like trees and buildings. Some of the landing pads in certain maps can cause some problems if your not careful. The other thing to watch out for is people, especially if your picking people up. It's may be better to land and make them run a bit rather than risking the chance of squishing them and getting a TK from it. :cry:
