    15 - 20 years from now?

Well, by that time, DICE might have all the bugs and fixes released
    for BF2.. but probably not.

If you look at the progression over the last 20ish years...we've gone from the takeoff of videogames with simple lines on a screen, to 2D games with sprites and effects and then to 3D games with ever-increasingly realistic graphics and an upward trend in immersion, interaction (think EyeToy, and nintendo revolution) and realism.

Not to mention there's already stuff like the technology they use in the IMAX cinemas for 3D films, and virtual reality (to a limited extent). So I think it is reasonable to suggest that VR could really be the future. It'd be very complex, and some people would say impossible...but I imagine going back in time and explaining Battlefield 2 to the inventor of 'Pong' would result in him saying 'imposisble!' as well.

I think its pretty safe to safe graphics will be photo-realistic by then. I remember reading an interview with some of the guys who make the Unreal engine [when the Unreal 4 engine was originally demo'd] and they said something along those lines.

Shouldnt have any concerns over PC hardware, thats always going to progress nicely... I just hope that new human interface devices are made... keyboards and mice are old hat.

I would hate to see graphics become photo-realistic. I play games so that I can play a game that I know is a game and looks like a game. When things start to have muted realistic color palettes, I become very uninterested. Would it be nice if the graphics were a lot smoother (24X AA or something crazy like that)? You bet! But no realistic stuff for me.

                  Go to church.

Let me tell ya something...back in the day...somewhere between vector graphics and Pac Man. I dreamt of time where I would be able to play head to head against some half-pint japenese kid linked via Cable hook up on the other side of the world I nearly pee-d my pants when they had Daytona linked to eight machines. I'll tell ya what the future brings.

Realism. Where first person shooter will merge with MMORPG's....where missions will take days to plan and the battlefields will be 100 times the size of Operation Flashpoints largest map.

Oh I dream of a day..where when a plane gets shot down....Blackhawks will be sent for extraction...where choosing a pilot kit will be as detailed as today's flight simulators found on the shelves.

I have seen the future and it looks pretty fricken wicked.

Tech support will still suck and there willl be more whiners.

What you're saying about games being more like MMORPGs I like. I would love to see games with THAT kind of realism to them. I don't, however, want ultra realistic graphics. BF2 is about as "realistic" looking as I'm willing to get.

And honestly, I don't understand why you're telling me to "go to church" for saying what I, personally, not anything about anyone else, like in games.

EA will own all companies in 15 years and will make the worst games ever.

To answer your question about how games will be played, physically:

As far as gaming goes, it started off rather rocky and realitively unsuccessfully.

Then Nintendo designed the controller that would be played around the world.

After that, the idea of the game controller has remained nearly unchanged for almost 20 years. Only now with the advent of the DS and the Nintendo Revolution do we see a real change of course. I'm not saying a right one, but a possible one.

As for visually, it's not that hard to imagine. Essentially, as things get better, just imagine watching Star Wars 3, but instead of it being a movie, you're controlling the action.

And before someone else says "MORE??"
Yes I admit, sometimes I do watch a porn site, I am just a healthy guy who likes naked women

honestly nobody knows wtf wil be up in 15 or 20 years, possibly there wil be nobody on the Face of this Planet anymore or we'll be playing Games with things that don't even look like a today's Computer.....

But what we can say for now is that in the next years (5 max 10 years) the Games wil get more interactive (like the Geomod Engine) they'll look better and sound a lot better and there will be more ppl playing them and possibly the Maps/levels or whatever wil be bigger, more realistic and so on......
