Let me get this strait. You are actually telling me - "Hey man, your 24:1 KDR in the jet without spwan camping is not enough for me as your rival team. I'd like you to grab a su34, and never let a living thing get out of the carrier, so my team can not make any use of the vehicals this game offers us on this carrier, take any kind of fun for anyone who likes to use those specific vehicals from our team and do not let any serious battle take place, because BF2 is all about not fighting, it's about winning by being the best spwan camper in the leaderboards. Yes, that's it, that's what winning means! - showing every one how easy I can spwan camp and take the fun out for every body else!".

That well reasoned, concise and intelligent argument just makes it sound like you place too much emphasis on stats and you're bitter that others are better than you at the game.

If someone was SO good in a jet they single handedly stopped an entire team of 32 players leaving a carrier I say they deserve the right to do it. More importantly, I would want the right to try and stop them using MY skill, rather than have a hissy fit, leave the server and then post immature rants on forums, hiding behind my anonymity.

Nothing beats a good base rape in the morning :). Seriously everytime i get base raped i just remember how many times i have done it. I know that the guys murdering me are probably having a great time and soon if i am patient i will be able to base rape them too. :)

i have to agree with you on this. i hate whining. if someone is spawn-killing i just spawn from another point and try to backstab the spawn-killer. i hate spawn killers, i hate jet whores, i don't like many things in the game but i will never complain against them. i just try to find a way to f..k them
the only thing that ****es me off is the sniper rifle, expecially the mec one. com'on! sniping is all about HEADSHOTS and "ONE SHOT ONE KILL"s, and in B2 sniping is so lame. i'm waiting for the unlock of the new rifle...

and by the way, the bottom line is that being hyper-competitive in public servers is really really lame. like making hard fouls while playing basketball with kids in a playground :).
IF you really are that good you have to prove it in a competitive situation. in a tournament, a clan match or whatever. otherwise it's SO PATHETIC.
i can't see the good in countinuosly bashing a noob who's spawning always at the same point and trying to understand what the game is like. of course you can do it, NP with that. but it's so PATHETIC.
like being proud of getting at the end of HL2 at level "EASY". or winning a tennis match against a blind guy.

I think sometimes people take the game serious. It is ok to be a little competitive in pubs, everyone wants to win but also wants to have fun.
There is a place for everything though. servers for messin around and servers for the serious gamer. Everyone just needs to find their place. :)

The fact people complain about being killed over and over by jets is not surprising, ive pretty much accepted spawncamping of cappable flags as something that is normal, as you can usually spawn somewhere else, and if thats not the case then you are just ****ed. But when you are trying to play a game, and you get destroyed by a jet zipping past whenever you cap a flag, while having no real defence, yes, thats frustrating, and people complain, including myself.

The fact "its in the game" is obvious, but what matters to people is "is it ment to be". Programmers are not perfect, as BF2 clearly shows. People complain about bugs and such, some of these effect gameplay, giving sertain "competitive" players an unfair avantage (planes :p). So yes, people get upset.

I'm referring to anyone who can't play the game for what it actually is and appreciate ALL aspects of how it's played, not just the one that suits them. I don't like being held to my spawn, but I deal with it and play the game. I don't enjoy being under ferocious bombardment from skilled pilots, but I deal with it and play the game.

I don't enjoy playing bunny hoppers but I realise their days are numbered. I deal... you get the message.

If I see hacks or other actual cheats, I stop playing and move on. I don't have some set of rules in my head about "gentlemanly honour" where everyone must be at least 30 paces from their enemy. I'm sure you see the point behind that statement.

You seem to think that your rules on BF2 etiquette are the be all and end all. They're not. YOU are constricting how others should play. I abide by the rules of the server I'm on but if I don't like them, I find a better server.

You don't like "spawn campers" for one reason only. They have outsmarted you/your team and acheived a position of dominance. Deal with it. Outsmart THEM. An entire team in one spawn has a decent chance of taking out one SU34 ffs. If you have got into a situation where it might be a bit hard to break out or your under pressure it implies you only like the situations where you are either easily winning or your perception is that the playing field is level (when it probably isn't).

Unless people are actually cheating they are entitled to play the game any way they want on the basis they accept others doing the same.

i don't like spawn campers because if you manage to spawn camp continuously then the other team is very weak, so you should get bored of "winning easily" and move on. if you don't, you have the rights to do so. but then i have the right to think you are a lame loser. you win when there's real competition. otherwise being so focused on winning is just plain pathetic.
