hmmm i think it could be an audio problem as well. Ya know the noise it makes in ya speakers/ear phones when iya get the dreaded lockup, well i've just had that listening to some music....maybe........

I just played for about another hour straight with no problems at all :)

mine works now. Knock on wood. I did the punk buster update program, and i updated it. I forgot to restart my machine(it doesnt ask you to). Thats why it keep freezing. So after i updated it and rebooted it worked. w0ot! :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p

Mine works now too. I did nothing again. This is exactly what happened last time too. So I bet PB retracted or changed the update that happened on Friday 11-11-5 9:30pm.

I also bet that this will happen again with some further PB update.

FIX:
you must delete your client side profile. Go into your my docs folder and you should see a bf2 file. delete it! If you have any screen shots you want to save, do i now by going into that file and copy the folder screenshots. This will kill your key mappings, any video settings and so forth. but it will fix your problem of freezing at the select a kit screen.

this will NOT make you loose your unlocks, ranks and awards. Those are all kept server side by EA/Dice. You will need to renter your login info upon starting up the game, so make sure you know your screen name and password.
