It's the same **** that happened a few weeks ago. There was a PB update on the Saturday and I couldn't play again until they fixed it 4 days later.

Now same thing happened after the latest PB update. I'm sick of playing the 'when will BF2 work' game.

I don't know what to do!! I emailed EA Support, but they're not going to respond until tomorrow (today=Sunday).

Everything was fine last night for me - I played for hours!! This morning I only made one change - I installed Battleships map, Map Pack 1, and Map Pack 2. All official files from Fileplanet.com. I can't imagine that being the problem...

I've preordered Special Forces, so if it gets here and ****s up I'll be so ****ed beyond belief. :evil: :hmm:

edit: I REALLLLY don't think MY problem is PB-related...

I left it maybe a week or two, and then it was fixed for another week or two, now guess what, oh yeah its back again. I didnt change anything so it isnt my fault. Its really annoying because im like the only person out of about 20 people I play with that has it.

exactly!! theres 780+ servers with millions of people playing on 1.03 all the time.. and it feels like im the only one who can't get damn bf2 to play for more than 60 seconds today.

for some reason I had it to, instaled a complete new system, instaled bf2 on it,runs fine for two hours, then bam, frees, complete block.

Restart of pc, after ten min, same story, but when I let it stand for like 10-15 sec, woop, he comes back!!

installed new drivers for the vid card, and problem seems to be over, but I had it again lately, but it only took like 3sec.

Guess we're sat waiting for PB to be fixed again. Might be able to play Wednesday if we're lucky.

PB sucks...can't even release a good patch. My only hope is the people that make PB a nessesity are running into more problems then the People who play honestly.

I've just been playing on NON-PB and PB servers for 15 minutes or so each, and I didn't get a freeze-up. I'm restarting BF2 to change some video settings now, and we'll see what happens this time. It's NOT PB, guys... game freezing has nothing to do with PB. It's EA Games - they made one of the most buggy games ever. Hopefully the expansion pack will fix some of this hell.

great! mass companies squeezing every penny out of us. EA probably started the ****ing bug.

Anyway on a more constructive note, I also agree that it is not a punkbuster fault. I almost played for 20 minutes on opne server. Surely if its a PB problem, it would not have let me connect in the first place!

On a quick glance it seems there still are people here on the forums with this problem. I chose to post in this thread, since it's the one I found my help.

So I had all the exact same symptoms as every one else, and almost the same story. Started the whole round of reinstalling drivers, changing firewall and virus scanner etc. until I pulled out and started to use logic. I had been on this forum before, and decided to come here after quickly glancing EA's support pages (pfffft). So after reading 10-15 minutes here I did the following three things:

1. Deleted /My Documents/Battlefield 2
2. Went to punkbuster site, downloaded pbsetup.exe
3. Ran pbsetup.exe (with battlefield 2 added in the games section of it)

Thats it. All good again. It apalling that EA hasn't been able to inform players about this crapuccino. It even shouldn't be hard for them, since they do know how to push a popup advertising their expansion... So I hope we the people spread the word on other boards too, just feel sorry for those not as experienced internet gameres who will most likely never again play multiplayer game (at least on ranked server).

It started again for me on Friday. Don´t know if this has been said but PB did another update on Friday. Put a ticket in to pb so maybe like the last time this happened it will be fixed. Link below....
