EA isn't the only one that has broken laws in advertising. How about Lomac (Lock On: Modern Air Combat) System specs required. This is a trend in marketing.

So has anybody actually talked to a lawyer for legal advice on this topic? I hear a lot of legal opinions but is anybody here really qualified to discuss the finer minutia of the law? It's not that I feel this community's opinion is bogus. Only, maybe some professional advice would be prudent if this were to be persued seriously before we assume certain things said in this thread as fact.

Well I did run this by a good friend of mine who has a cool job at a computer place. So after he gets back from lunch we will see what we can do.

Taking on EA in court because your bummed there isn't a hovercraft or a buddy list seems a bit fickle. Good luck finding a lawyer who is willing to invest in that debacle.

There was a post on this over at the EA forums., i duno if there was any outcome but the thread somehow turned into an american vs english slanging match..

Anyhow back on topic its a very good point your making even though a few ppl on here see to think your taking EA to court over not having a hovercraft *planks*

Anyhow i hope someone gets somewhere with this it might buckup the ideas of companies before releasing unfinished products and generally ripping the consumer blindly on one hand and getting away with it on the other, AND people loving them for it too ffs!!!!!!!.

I do however find it quite sad that because the game works for a lot of people fine they are like "Get over your whining lamer" type of post. Yeh im alright too jack .. so does that make it ok for companies such as EA get away with stuff?. Q for those type of posters.., dont you feel even the slightest bit ripped you bought a game that COULD have had MANY more features in it?. So in short apparently its ok for EA to get away with this, yey take our money blindly and gladly EA and we love you for it.

who cares its only a few dollars.... multiplied by everyone else that bought it too

Dude only way EA could shut me up is if they fixed the game, I get a 7800 GT graphics card and a job.

Another good thing if I did not point it out is that we could get them for their talking about a patch that will fix the bugs but has not even fixed the bugs that were supposed to be fixed in the second patch. Now that is BAD!

7800GT out of em for shutting the fkup? i think thats a small price for EA to pay lol..., no but seriously the total lack of care (in these forums AND others) about what/who you hand your money over to in the hope your going to get a decent product here is rather worrying.

Just remember there are MANY ppl who have bought this game and now cant play it unless its on the 1.02 patch.., how annoying would that be? Yet its ok for EA/Dice to do this? .., IMO that is simply appauling and MUST be breaching some sort of consumer law.

Nobody is going to court. But going to the BBB with enough complaints will strong arm EA into getting what we want fixed. It's not just because we are missing a hovercraft or buddy lists, thats just 2 things. It's the entire package that was mislabeled, the advertising, the constant troubleshooting, ETC.

As consumer's that have already purchased the game, it's our responsibility to ensure that this wont continue by simply complaining to a higher power. I have sent e-mail's to EA and participated in there poll's and to no avail.

I love this game, but there are too many unfinished things with this product. I paid 50 bucks when this this came out, and i still dont feel like i got my money's worth. Especially after upgrading to better hardware so i could run the game the way it's meant to be played. I needed to upgrade anyway, at some point, but when it's specifically for this game.........

If a car maufacturer advertised a car to be sold in a month, and released videos of the car in action and all the extra's it comes with. When that car is delivered, with one seat, and you have to put the engine together. That is not a finished product. So you complain to the car manufacturer, and they say they will fix the problems. The next day you see the same manufacturer releasing a newer version of your car in a month, with bigger and better options (as is the case w/ the expansion). But you still dont have your seat's and your almost done putting together the engine (EXCEPT you need a wrench that is only offered from the manufacturer and they wont give it to you-as is the case w/ the bot pathing tools) Yeah, it's not right, and people should stand up for themselves any way they can.
