I know, it's awfull, Its a love/hate relationship. If someone else came up w/ a game like BF2, it COULDN"T be the same, even if it was a good game. They can't make it the same. It suck's, every night i play, and every night i curse EA.

Read your EULA as well as the disclaimer for on-line play. You've got no case. Someone should close this thread.

Just because a company puts legal mumbo jumbo, it doesn't mean they exempt from anything. It doesn't keep them from delivering a product that is different from the one being advertised. Or for that matter complete.

You realize who you are talking with here. These guys will jump on the “you’re instantly wrong and I'm right bandwagon” all day long. The second you disagree with them you are negative, not logical, an idiot, or whatever stupid remark you want to make. They are hell bent over a minor detail that is so far away form false advertising that it isn’t even funny.

They read the laws but apparently can not comprehend them, they think because the BBB actually responded to their claim that it meant something. It is the BBBs job to respond to you and notify the company you are complaining about that is what those people get paid to do.

Personally I feel you are all just wasting everyone’s time and therefore I am no longer going to continue in these conversations. Since the second you disagree with these asshats you are completely wrong, not seeing the big picture, or not looking at both sides....hmm not looking at both sides funny how that’s coming from the other side....

Look, it would be stupid to go further than complaining to BBB or ftc, because really it is a bunch of little things, but if someone doesn't pick on these little things, they turn into BIG things.

I myself am not responding any more either, what i do with my time is my business. So sorry to get everyone involved. We originally wanted to get people their choices out to them, if they want to complain great, and if not thats great too. I wasn't looking for anyone's approval of my decision. But after i hear from EA regarding this i will let everyone know, good or bad.

Well, if you'd clicked the links, you'd see that there are a few promised features that's not in the game. There are also other sources listing/having listed things that was supposed to be in-game.
                  - Buddy list
                  - Live chatroom
                  - In-game clan creation
                  - The LCAC
                  - Laser designated bombs
                  - More than 100 players on a server
                  - Spec Ops making an aircraft invisible to radar
                  - Varied armaments for choppers (even ON THE BOX you can see a BH with rocket pods)
                  There's probably more stuff too..

But there's more annoying stuff, like bugs.
It seems that EA's stance is that "if a bug is too hard to fix, we dont want to spend time on it". I know a lot of you find that hard to believe, but consider this: It's still not known whether EA is releasing another patch, even though there are some serious bugs in the game (since the demo....). Particularly the red/blue tag bug, enemies disappearing (going invisible) under your crosshair at certain distances, flag-cap bug, CTDs and more (just read the forums for more bugs, particularly this thread).

And the patches they've released, lol.. 1.1 had a memory leak, 1.2 fixed it. 1.3 introduced Wake, Favorite list and some other nice things, but did NOWHERE NEAR what it promised. They promised 140+ fixes, yet the readme.txt accompanying the patch shows maybe 20 fixes, and 10-20 new features (don't have the document at hand atm, so the numbers are approximate). No mention of any fixes regarding the most serious bugs..

And not only that, but there are bugs in the game that has been there since the BF1942 demo came out - and that's almost 4 years ago!!! The two most annoying bugs I can come up with, that's 4 years old, is the hit detection/collision bug, where you round a corner, dodge for cover etc, and after you are safe you still get killed. "Lag" a lot of people say, but it can't be due to lag when it happens equally much with a ping of 5 or 100. Also, whenever your prone near a wall, your limbs clip right through and the enemy can shoot your legs from the other side of the wall. Oh, and the bug where you can heal, repair, re-arm through walls - hell, you can even enter a vehicle through thin walls/fences!

So, to sum up my post..
                  - EA did promise us a lot of stuff that's not in the game.
                  - EA don't fix the most serious/difficult bugs, but use their patches to keep us and our whining at bay (well, atleast it seems that way, including an old map and not fixing serious bugs would indicate that)
                  - EA don't fix serious bugs in their old game engines before releasing sequels.

If YOU think that's good business policy, and that they should be allowed to continue this way, then fine. Leave this thread alone and go enjoy BF2.
We, on the other hand, find this unacceptable - and seeing as it's impossible to get EA to listen to us by using their forums or Support dept., people start using channels like BBB.
Maybe nothing will come from it, maybe EA is laughing at us - but at least we are trying to get our point across, and there's no reason NOT to let us continue with it.

You cant make a great mod w/ a damaged product. Desert Combat worked well because there were no KNOWN issue's only glitches(which every game has). It took EA 1 1/2 yrs to get to the point where BF1942 was mostly perfect. But this is different, they are blatently avoiding it to release an expansion.
EA also hasnt released the SP1 COOP tools for Bot pathing, do you know how many people are waiting for those?

Actually I found BF1942 BORING... Repetitive.. same ole, same ole,
every game. The player movement was horrible, imo. BF Vietnam was
even worse, choppers SPINNING around a flag pole every server
you go to.. RULES RULES RULES out the wazoo on every server
about 'Dont do this or you will be kicked...Dont do that or you will
be kicked..'' Its just damn silly..and coming from someone who played
a REAL wicked skill game UT for 6 years, it seems kiddy to me.

I was hoping BF2 would be the real deal, but I wasnt familiar with EA
too much at the time.. Now I am...and boy, what a let down. Releasing
unfinished games, taking 3 months to fix hundreds of bugs and exploits.
Thats just a total disgrace.. EA will never see another dime from me..
Never again will I pay to beta test their product.

I just got used to dealing with MUCH higher class of games, I guess,
MUCH higher standard of product.. EA/DICE couldnt program an
                      alarm clock, imo.
