* Inaccurate weapons?
* Firing magazines of ammo into enmies who won't die?
* Firing 4 AT rockets to kill a tank?
* Name tags giving away your position?

* Armies full of smacktards?
* AA that doesn't work?
* Constant Arty spamming?
* An omnipresent enemy commander knowing your exact position at all times.
* Players being rewarded for twitch "skills" rather than tactical play?
* The boring conquest game mode which results in running in circles to cap flags?

Yes? If so, salvation is here! Project Reality Mod v.2 has been released. It feels so good! I hadn't played BF2 for almost a month as it had become a boring a frustrating experience for me. IMO, PRM is a huge improvement to the game and I urge you to download and try it. http://realitymod.com/index.php?page=files

The Assualt and Secure gamemode (supply lines) plays extremely well and is a very welcome and refreshing change.

Sounds cool, any mod that takes out that gay ass magical, mystical
UAV is ok in my book.

I have played it...for 10 min.
I like "the Silent Heroes mod kinda"when you get shot youre screen turns red/dizy.
No bunny jump=ok
And some other interesting stuff

But.....
You dont see who you kill/killed you.
No health bar....
Keep in mind that the game also must be fun to play, that option is something I dont like. Realisme fine but dont be to
is my opinion.

I kind of like the fact you never know who killed you or who you killed. You really have to watch the body drop to be sure you've completed the job rather than just look for the "you killed -".

As for the health bar, as far as I can tell if you're wounded then you'll soon be dead unless you find a medic. After any damage I've found that I slowly "bleed out" and die. Therefore I think your health indicator is that you're either at 100% health or dying (flashing red tunnel vission periodically).

It still seems like many people are simply not aware of this mod at all or are concerned that they will no longer be able to play regular BF2 or something. It's here, it's good and it's free.

As far as BF2 flag circling captureing problem..........
i blame that on the map itself. Or more, the flags themselves.

How a map can have 12 flag points to cap.........i mean seriously. Thats stupid.
5 at MOST should be on any given map.
Think about it. 5 flags......5 people at each flag capping gaurding, whatever. On both teams.....the total would be....50 people. And even so 5 at each flag, could get boring or not too hard to cap. But...... i stand steady at 5 flags being the most that should be on ANY MAP.
On maps with less flags, i can venture, if i live that long, to any flag, and expect opposition. Those are the most fun games. Where you have defenders and attackers. Fun, fun fun.

Well Howie, that's the beauty of PRMM. They have their "assualt and secure" gamemode where flags must be captured in a certain order. This results in the need for tactics and for attackers and defenders. Much better gamemode than conquest IMO and really worth playing.

reason i won't get it is coz i doubt that any servers in Australia would have the mod...
although i agree that the mod has some nice concepts... keep up the good work and it might become the next big thing like desert combat was to bf42

I'm an Aussie too but I live in Japan at the moment. There are definately no servers in Japan but I can deal with 200 pings. The gameplay is so much better that it's worth it.

As for servers in Australia, I have no idea. There are plenty of Aussies on the reality forums though so I guess there might be one or two. I still think it's worth your effort to download and try.

What amazes me is how the mod team has managed to correct things which dice still hasn't fixed. The AA is a perfect example.

I really don't think I could go back to vanilla BF2 again.

I didn't buy BF2 because I thought it would be a hardcore combat sim. I bought it because it's an interesting game.

I'll check the mod out when it's version 1, but I don't expect to enjoy it much if it goes overboard with the realism tweeks.

Thats ok it's probably not geared for people like you. This mod is for people that want a realistic tactical warfare game. Perhaps your more of the type that likes CS:S or Doom you know zombie point & click type games.......nothing wrong with that. Some of us just prefer a little more thinking & strategy in our games.
