And try to avoid maps like wake island and operation clean sweep they were hard in the first place for the usmc but now with the improved missles it a bloody nightmare. Heres a tip for you if you attemp to fly to the enemy go sf so when you get shot down (and you will) you at least have a parachute (i think the sf have a parachute thats what people were saying on the server anyway the rest of the classes deffinatly do not).

BF2 is hopeless. The game's player base has a large percentage of
kids and imature teenie boppers who think that the rewards and badges
and medals are REAL. LMFAO!!! I tried finding a good game the other
night, hopping from server to server, after about 4 tries I gave up.

This game is a disgrace to the gaming community. I packaged my BF2
back up and took it back to EB this morning and told them I demanded
a refund. I told the kid behind the counter it didnt run on my pc worth
a damn, and he gave me my money back.

I will never buy another Electronic Arts product again.

Um, I've seen this reponse in several other threads zilla, but in this case we are discussing PRMM as opposed to regular BF2. If you played PRMM you would probably be kicking yourself for returning your game. It's just a taste of the kinds of diversity mods will bringing to BF2 in the future.

I downloaded PRMM over the weekend, installed, but didn't fire it up until last night.

          Wow.

I will never go back to vanilla BF2 again.
          • Enemies go down in a couple shots, not a couple clips
          • You can take down an enemey helo with a couple rockets, maybe even one if it's placed on the cockpit
          • the AA works!
          • Certain kits have been changed for more realism, such as only SpecForces gets the parachute, Antitank gets only the rocket launcher and only 3 rounds, and Engineers have 2 kinds of shotgun ammo
          • Commanders are reduced to the only 2 abilities that make them worthwhile--supplies and artillery
          • and Engineers are a must because you cannot repair assets with the supply crates

If you can't handle the mod, just spare us and go right back to Quake.

Hey, trolls. You could learn from this guy.
              Trolls ?

lmao.. this whole forum is funny as hell.. post a negative remark
about BF2 and get your thread locked.. post a useless 'I love BF2 because
the colors are so beautiful' thread and get a brown noser award..

Hey, I tried the mod... I found it nothing special. I realize it took a lot
of time for these guys to make it, I salute them for it, but its not for me.
Personally, I find the worst thing about BF2 to be its player base. It
seems to be FILLED with a high percentage of kiddies and lamers. Ive
been playing games online since before color monitors were on home
desktops.. and never have I seen a game so filled with lameness.

I swapped my BF2 for another BF2... BATTLEFRONT II... and you know what,
even though Im not a Star Wars geek, I have found it to be MUCH MUCH
more enjoyable to play... and the bonus is..that it loads QUICK..runs FLAWLESS..
and contrast to BETAFIELD 2 it isnt full of bugs, exploits, hacks, and kiddies.

You want me to spend another $50 based on the testimony of two guys? Why bother? The BF2 mods that are releasing are almost 100% free.

It is awesome and it's a part of the mod.

You can download it here at www.realitymod.com

When a server runs an AAS game mode you will automatically start playing it.

This is just the beginning for PR. In their full version mod they will have the British Army - vehicles and weapons.

I gotta couple of questions. I played quite alot of DoD (haven't gotten the Source version yet) and really liked it for its more realistic aspects. I also enjoy BF2, but some things really irk me. So the main question is, how have they fixed the AA? Does it track the original target or do we still have to worry about hitting a friendly. Also, how do the different types of ammo options work? Are they selectable and do they do varying damage? I know a HEAT round is high-explosives for infanty and a sabot round is for penetrating armor, but a previous poster said they both worked well against infantry, when a sabot round inrl would not.

                            Cheers

Re AA. To tell you the truth I really don't know as you never know who exactly you are killing in PRMM. All I've found is that they seem to fly faster and pack a bigger punch. One hit to a jet and it's down. The key point is that AA now works!

Yes, the different types of ammo are selectable. IMO the HEAT rounds are far more effective against infantry (with APC's it's kind of hard to tell but with tanks they pack a huge blast radius). That said, both kinds of ammo will still kill infantry. Form my perspective it seems you have to shoot sabot rounds much closer to cause to damage.

Best thing is to try it out for yourself and form your own opinion. You may not like it all but there's only one way to find out. It's free and doesn't effect your ability to play regular BF2 so there's nothing stopping you. Based on your inital comments however I think this will be a winner for you.
