    Jets: BF2's only true downfall.

Every map that has airplanes is ultimately doomed until ground troops have a proper Anti-Air option.

Without useful ground-to-air AA, only can other jets challenge jets that rule the sky.

So, it comes down to pilot skill. Well, unless the best jet pilot from both teams are of equal skill, one will dominate the other. Whichever team has the dominating pilot, wins the round. Period.

Why? Because, without another pilot in the sky to threaten him, and no useful AA for ground troops, a jet is free to do what it likes to the opposing team. This means attacking their jets, helis, transport helis, bombing tanks on the ground, squads, etc.

Needless to say, I've been practicing flying.

    How are your flight skills?

I disagree. I also Disagree with all the Aviator overpowered threads. Some are valid but most are prejudiced. its easy to come off a game and say this is overpowered or that is overpowered. If you get owned in one game it really can agitate you. Ala the prejudiced comment.

Somone posted about the Eng class being overpowered and calling for it to be nerfed. A prime example if ever there was one.

It all depends on the kind of player. If the pilot is a good bomber they can totally own the map. All it takes to counter that is for someone to jump in a jet and stop him. If you play as a soldier all the time and get killed constantly by jets why not learn to fight in a plane?

because your not good, because you need practise?

the same applys the other way around. Some ace pilots might suck on the ground hence why they fly all the time. I can agree that it is **** easy to kill ground troops in a plane but at the end of the day bombs are powerful!

If you want to stop it happening, learn how to fly and learn how to be a good pilot. your missing out on a good section of the game.

I gained 1000 kills in a few weeks with jets, they do some serious damage if the other team doesn't have a pilot.

          Actually, it can be worse.

Imagine getting 2 (or 4) planewhores who don't attack each other and just bomb the ground troops.

Thats why im saying learn to fly!

If someone on the map is a great soldier, you have to have another great soldier(s) to counter him. It applys to anything in the game. Armour, Troops, Helos planes etc

The so called anti-air in bf2 is bugged (last moment veeroffs, tk's) and weak (Tanguska/Linebacker main gun), planes have an unfair advantage at this time, end of story. :p

Telling others to learn to fly is nonsense, there are to many people contesting for the aircraft as it is, and they arent helping.

Touche? So, you agree? Sure.. Maybe you're a good pilot and you have fun doing it so it's easy for you to recommend that to others. For me, I love being infantry and I really have no fascination with jets or helicopters. It can be extremely frustrating to get bombed over and over by a jet pilot and not have any means of fighting back. I don't wanna fly. Like someone mentioned above, there's already too many people contesting for aircraft. They REALLY need to fix the AA.. Until then I just don't play maps with jets in 'em.

If there's another pilot doing damage I'll chase him and keep him occupied. If not I'll bomb.

I don't care, I love owning people in the jets. Takes more skill to be a deadly pilot than anything else in the game, so that's why I love it! There's so much to deal with. The list goes on and on.

The absence of jets AND helicopters might be a reason Karkand is so popular. I cant fly worth sh*t but will get around to learn one day

Re: Jets: BF2's only true downfall.

Takes more skill, hah...nothing can hurt you on most maps, it's just shooting ducks in a barrel.

Jets are ridiculously broken since there's no anti-air option (compare the number of ways you can kill a vehicle or infantry easily to the number of ways you can kill a jet). Put in an anti-air infantry kit with anti-air missiles as accurate and powerful as AT rockets, and things would balance quickly.

Choppers are somewhat messed up...they can take WAY too much damage, and hit just a little bit too hard. Fix them so that a main gun tank hit can kill them in one shot, and that it takes 6 rockets to kill a tank instead of one, and they'd be fair.

C4 is retarded, way too easy to suicide, and it's way to hard to stop. I'd find it acceptible only if anyone who suicided with it was out of the game permanently (the 'realism' option, which normally I don't approve of)...or at least a safety that would prevent them being detonated when the guy using them is too close.

Otherwise, yeah the game is fine.

                              Take care,
