i miss taking rides standing on top of vehicles/helos/planes :) that and the moving larger sized boats/carriers.

Well i really enjoy both bf1942 and bf2, a few things i miss are the ships and ocean battles, they were cool. i also miss binoculars and artllery. the main thing i miss is the WWII theam, of course i know that this is modern combat. No problem, because ive no worries espcially with the Forgotten Hope mod team getting ready our FH2. the engine is way better as are the physics and animation. all in all im extreimly pleased whith BF2 Thanks dice and EA

Things I miss from Desert Combat. (Couldn't handle you gun taking up 60%of my screen in bf42):

1) Variety. BF2 needs more vehicles and maps with more of a variety of static objects.

2) CTF Alot of the people I played DC with will not buy/play BF2 until CTF is added. (either by patch or mod)

3) Shooting down a helo with one shot from a tank. :evil:

4) Multi-Floor buildings that you can enter more than the first floor and the DAMN ROOF. :cussing:

5) Not having to worry about finding that $%*#ing squad leader that is hiding somewhere in your base.

Thats all I can think of right now.

The part I miss the most is after careful placement of my det packs (c4) to protect a flag only to find the tide or the battle heading in the opposite direction and unable to pick them up again.

Server-side modded servers. I loved all the different ones (Now with the ranking system we dont really have that anymore)

Amen to that. So much for making BF2 modding-friendly. Buncha liars in the EA marketing dept...

I miss the ships from 42. Those were the coolest things ever. I also liked the artillery, how everyone could use it and you could coordinate with some people to spam one area. I also miss the way the guns shot, no random deviation. It was a nice thought, but it takes some of the skill out of shooting.
The things that I like the most in BF2 are the classes. I think they did an excellent job with the majority of the classes, with maybe some tweaking needed on the engie.Overall an excellent job. I alos like how they did jeeps and buggies. Man those things are better than ever.

The one thing I wish never came into existance is the ranks. I cant wait until I dont have to play on ranked servers any more(once I get the last couple unlocks).

Things missed-BF42 and mods

.50 Cal 1 shot kills at range
Spotting for artillary and mobile artillary--MLRS unleashing hell!
Stinger weapon kit
Planes-some games now no one is flying or its one sided
A-10 and Frogfoot
Larger more diverse levels
The Speed of the vehicles--they really need to be increased in BF2
Going in buildings
Battleships
I miss the last year before BF2 came out when all the Noobs,Assholes, and Smacktards were pretty much weeded out of BF42 and the mods. It made for great gaming when everyone (pretty much) was civil and servers were reliable for great games. I miss DCX-Hall of Slain theres a server for BF2 now but no one is ever in it??

I really dont have regrets about BF2 except that I dont have time to plays as much..
