What do you miss or regret comming in BF2 from BF1942?

Just wundering, BF2 gave us many many extra's in the game, but maybe you don't like those extra's,or miss some things from the old days.

For me, what I miss .

- the flake cannon sites : would be great against choppers and maybe jets
- and one from BF vietnam ; I miss tha fact you could transport tanks and stuff with a chopper

What I regret comming .

- the artilery : I hate it, it's beeing abused, kills you while you can't do anything about it, commanders put it everywhere, teammates or not, who cares, it messes infantry fights up, ....

I miss a game with good gameplay, good maps, lots of room, and a serverbrowser that worked. I think that pretty much covers everything. And I miss the punish system not being RIGHT THERE IN YOUR FACE. Most people didn't even know how to ptk in 1942, and that was a blessing. If you didn't know how, chances are you didn't need to. (at least in the cases I ran into on the CTF server I played on in DC)

I regret any commander assets, period. Weapons that hardly damage people, tanks that can take 9/10 damage in one shot, guided missiles that don't even work, yet they're guided, um...ok, I'll force myself to stop there, you get the idea. :p

i miss the flak sites too...I wish there were a few of them on the levels...or at least maybe take the moble AA guns and make them a stationary turrent kind of thing...would beat the crap out of trying to get in one of the AA turrents now and hope to god after 10 missiles of firing maybe one hits lol

I played Desert Combat way for than 1942 so I'll talk about that:

1 Shot snipe kills with .50 Cal (I love how there was only a couple of em in a map)
1 shot tank-to-helo kills
Helo controls (I loved em once I destoryed with em)
The maps
CTF

And my #1 missed thing
Server-side modded servers. I loved all the different ones (Now with the ranking system we dont really have that anymore)

I miss the non ranked fun....now you gotta play on ranked servers or everyone sucks or is just screwing around. No one to really feel like your playing against a person that wants to win. Which of course leads to stat padders, rank whores, etc.

Nothing. I like BF2 better. I miss the big artillery you could drive in Desert Combat. :)

The Flake cannon that thing was cool and also i miss Prop planes the dog fighting in 1942 was alot better and required more skill to take someone down.

i like bf42 better. i love wwii theme. i miss the large selection of maps, mods, ect. i also love how it runs. i wish dice/ea would do bf1942 using bf2 engine! i really miss the subs and the moving ships. nothing more fun than driving an aircraft carrier around. or sneaking around in a sub. or going after a sub with a destroyer.

I got bf1942 since the day it came out. I love BF2 much better, I don't have to pretend to like a lower-content first game to let people know I'm a vet.

We know you played since day one and so did I, blah blah but you can admit a few things can't you?
