Well, Then, since a few of you say 2GB of ram would help alot more, and not as much lag as 1 GB, im going to start saving for a 1 Gig upgrade.. It wont cost that much.. I can get 1 gig for $44 =D

Make sure you get the same tpye of RAM that you have now, that will make it far less likely to get roblems with it.

sorry, but i feel like over boasting the other boaster. 2 gigs ocz pc4000, amd 4200 x2, bfg oc 7800gtx. i run bf2 on all the highest settings and don't bother to close other running programs while playing.

The 6600GT is a good card, yes not the best, but good enough, you should be able to play on all high with atleast 2x AA, if not 4x. If you decide to OC it it should do very well.

Umm, no. You can't run textures on high with only 1GB of RAM on a 6600GT...it won't work very smoothly. And it also depends on what rez you are playing at. I run my 6600GT on medium everything....but I also have a meager A64 3200+.

Boasting The act of bragging how "smart" you were to blow tons of money on a video card which will be worth half as much in 6 months, just so you can play the latest video game on the highest settings.

Yes you can, i have my textures on high and im using 1 Gig of PC3200 and im using a 9550 256MB!! And no im not BSing.... it runs fine, yes i have slightly OC'ed my card, but the 6600GT is better than the 9550... way better.. so yes you should be able to.

I'm not called you a liar, I just can't imagine your system taking it so well. It's proven that the game will eat over 1Gig by itself when set to high so you're using virtual memory for sure.

If you wouldn't mind, please run a quick test:

Load the game and spawn somewhere. Now hit CTRL+ALT+DEL or ALT+TAB to minimize the game (keep it running though). Now go to the 'Performance' tab in Task Manager and look to see how much memory is being used.

Ok i have texture high, geoimerty med, lighting high, dynamic shadows and dynamic light ded, effects high, terrain high, view distance high, res 1024x768 @72Hertz... Ill do the check for RAM usage in a sec.

There is no way i can run all on high... but i have tried.. lol.. i need another gig of RAM and a better card.. haha.

Can anyone tell me how good the Radeon 9800 Pro is, like 6th best, or w/e? because when we got this comp, it was the best GFX card out there..
