I think you answered your own question.

Kinda like when a patient goes into a doctors office and says. It only hurts when i do this *pulls finger back to wrist* Doctor replies.. "hmmm ... then stop doing it!"

In other words. You gotta keep your settings on low. Only way for your machine I am guessing. If you have a decent card, then its probably one of 3 things. Your ISP, Very little RAM, or Processor is bottlenecking you.

How do you think the 6600gt will perform, I'm thinking of buying one as well. I need a recommendation.

The 6600GT is a good card, yes not the best, but good enough, you should be able to play on all high with atleast 2x AA, if not 4x. If you decide to OC it it should do very well.

Yeh, I'm intrested in replacing my FX5950Ultra with a 6600GT 256Mb, medium settings to high settings sounds good to me.

                      Re: Graphics

I have a relatively old Asus KT4V MB, 1g Corsair PC3200 RAM, AMD 2000 Processor OC'd to a 2800, and just upgraded the video card from a 5700 Ultra 128Mb to a 6800GT 256 Mb AGP. I noticed a nice jump in the graphics but with all the settings on high, I still got some video lag. I dropped them down to mostly high and a few medium and it runs smooth.

Going to return the 6800 because I simply didn't see anywhere near $350 worth of improvement. Once I get my new MB and Processor, I will buy another one but it will be PCI Express. With everything else I am currently running, it just wasn't worth it. I used to run low with ease.

                        Re: Graphics

The fact that you have lag on all high would not be the cards fault. To have lag free play whilt having all the settings on hgh you need 2Gigs of RAM. You CPU is quick enough to handle it.

                          Ohk, well I have:
                          Pentium 4 2.66 Ghz Processor.
                          1024 MB Ram
                          Radeon 9800 Pro 256 MB
60 GB HD (That doesnt matterthough)

Ohk, so now, I was just trying to play bf2, i opened it up, no account was there, soi thought nothing of it and retrieved my account. Tried toplay aserver and "Your CD Key is not valid" Wth??

                            Re: Graphics

Have you done any tampering with the files that could havecaused the account to be deleted?

In regard to the CD key error, this is a problem that seems to srise with the 1.03 patch. There are heas of threads, like this one.

Click here. This thread has alot of info about the CD key error, also try searching for fixes.

If this doesnt work, try re-installing it and just plaing with the 1.02 patch, as thats what im doing, i gave up with 1.03.

Not the card's fault. I'm using a BFG 6800GT OC that's overclocked to Ultra speeds and could do more if my psu's 12V rail had more amps. You'll need at least 2Gig of mem in order to play the game on high without lag. Unfortunately I only have 1Gig so I can't crank up the eye candy all the way. Everything on high except Textures (medium).
                              I need more money...
