I play alot of Day of Defeat (HL1), it has a german rifle (the K98) that can kill you in one shot. Doesn't matter where it hits (head, toe, shoulder) .. you die. People coined it "the noob cannon".

So you see the term in alot of games that have weapons that are deadly, and are easy to use.

But like the aforementioned K98 ... to be REALLY good with it (meaning, carry a 2:1 ratio or rack up 40-50 kills a round) ... you do need skill. Some of the best BF2 players I have seen are Assaulters. Usually, highest in flag caps and flag defends.

I am getting a bit tired off the term noob and whore being used for anyone who finds an easy but PERFECTLY LEGIT way to score points. The goal of tactical warfare or any game is not to do whatever makes your job harder. If the M203 takes no skill, than anyone with half a brain would use it. I don't use it because I think an assualt soldier can't accomplish nearly as much as a medic, anti-tank soldier, etc, however, I have nothing against those who do. I call it a n00b tube just because that's easier to remember.

It would be a lot harder to win a game without capping flags. Would it be honorable for me to stop capping flags? Should we call flag capping the "n00b move"? It sure doesn't take a lot of skill to stand in one place until a flag turns to your team's flag.

Well i like to call it that to be honest I mean i love having fights with assault rifles and stuff from far away but when your shooting someone and they just kill you with one shot and it dont even have to be accurate then thats just dumb. But I suppose it's there to be used so use it all you want but i'll still call it the noob tube.

I am not a noob. I have been playing regular since the game was released. I use the M203 a lot coz it's the BIZ. I can defend a flag from two to three attackers, I can pick snipers out of towers, I can clear out a BH (funny to see all the bodies fall out ), I can kill a jeep with three guys in one shot and I can scare the S**T out of the attack chopper thats trying to cap a flag. I love my M203.

ya im sick of the term, i dont even use it that much and im sick of it. Im usually playing as spec ops. Congrats by the way, your actually using the M203 for what its put in the game for

I agree, except I tend to call people GP faggots rather than noob tubes :). But generally, people who call it that are just sore losers. I appreciate anything that makes killing noobs easier.

i love the n00b tube term. i stoped playing assult cuz the dam thing requires no skill. oh sure you say that a long shot needs skill, i say "my ass it requires skill!" any n00b can balst that thing and get kills with it to whore points. learn to use a real gun like the pkm so you can pwn the n00b assulters like i do

It is what makes the assault class the assault class, lol.

basically, most of them appear to be people who unlocked the g3 and keep trying to convince themselves it makes any sense to use it.

No, too many people are using the grenade launcher on the assault weapons to kill people in 1 shot, I don't think I have ever used the grenade launcher on the assault weapons to kill a person.

I never use Anti-Tank either, too many people use it as well, I have only used it once and that was in one round, I was testing out the MP5, but other's persist to use the Anti-Tank to kill soldiers; not in a vehicle, on foot.

You know why they use the anti-tank round? It's because their sub machine gun/DAO-12 is pathetic in long range confrontations. Which would you perfer to use in this case? The Pistol? or The One-Hit Kill Anti Tank round?

yeah, exactly. I love assualt, but I use the G3, and the 4 "man" grenades that come with it. I need not, the tube of nOOb.

Heck, if the shoe fits... I think that's why they hate it so much, cause it's TRUE. :laugh:
