bunny hopping is a problem, no doubt, but i'd rather see some of the more frustrating issues resolved first, such as the red blue tag bug before putting the stop to a bunch of retards jumping around.

Ever notice how the M1 takes damage when you go up or come down a hill? Or hit a bump?

Check out the Collision Mesh with the part sticking out front, would be nice if they fixed this in the patch since no one else can:hmm:

We need more vehicles, maps, and a way to add a server to the favorites by ip.

Re: Official EA 'Issues to be resolved' thread

Engineers need a little more love:

1.It's frustrating that mines can be blown up now by tank rounds and the like.

2.If an autoshotgun can shoot 4 times in the time it takes for one shot from a pump don't you think pumps need to be tweaked a bit more.

3.The logic of risking life and limb to repair vehicles and commander equipment takes so much time with little reward yet they can be destroyed so quickly makes using a wrench worthless. Engineers are almost forced to stay solely in armor to not only defend themselves but also to FIX stuff. Change the logic so that your rewarded with quicker repairs and/or more points for repairing equipment WITH the wrench rather than using the driver ability. You can keep the wrench vs. helicopters the same, as the BH repairing exploit was the last known good reason to be an Engy. Hey if their going to significantly reduce the hitpoints on the air vehicles in the next patch do you think they should increase the repair rate back to what it was? I enjoy playing as engy but its becoming increasingly less fun than the other classes because of the drawbacks. Engineers have to rely on other vehicles and weapons to keep up with other classes when a lot of the time there are none around or YOUR outside repairing SOMEONE ELSE'S vehicle and weapon. It's a thankless job a lot of the time.

maybe that's why it's called an AUTO shotgun?

Hello! This is about not being able to use handgrenades while jumping.

I read and fully understood changes such as not being able to jump and use c4 and grenadelauncher. But why oh why do they want to remove throwing handgrenades while jumping?? This is one of the most stupid ideas of change I've ever heard since that has nothing to do with the c4 and grenadelauncher exploits. Jumping and throwing grenades should still be possible since you can't throw grenades over far distances or up on high roofs if they remove it. A lot of the accuracy in throwing grenades will be lost aswell, which now is an advantage for non assault/c4 classes which provides more balance in play etc. Hope someone who's in charge of this change reads and understands this oppinion..!

FFS, posted about that red & blue tag thing, killed a few teamates and got punished inevitably, also I think its 100% true AA is far too weak vs jets, in over 200 hours of gaming not once have i killed a (flying) jet with any form of aa... :|
Also, can't see why they put artillery in bf2 at all. Severe annoyance for maps like karkland tbh, they should remove artillery on maps that have jets removed, e.g karkland, mashtuur city, 16 player maps. Just my opinion

You ever played when it's the same commander over andover again, just becuase he's got the highest rank? That's so BS! You should be commander for max 3 rounds at a time, then you're not allowed to be commander fo a round, let some1 else try ****!

                      And also:

Which EA IDIOT had the great idea to let server admins decide if it's possible/not possible to munity against a commander?

A lot of server have turned thisn off, so u can't vote munity at all... I've seen lots of times where commanders just sit on ground defence to get the hours...

Re: Official EA 'Issues to be resolved' thread

Well I screwed around until the questioner is locked and therefore did not get to post my opinion on the three most important issues in BF2. I however would not have had much of an impact because my priority is quite different. I must respect the consensus of the group I however cannot believe that most players believe that bunny hopping is more important than say the AA issue or my no.1 ,totally out of control commanders with artillery. Needs to be toned down considerably. We spend half of a game running from the worthless crap. And how about some relief for these players that need to remove a clan tag from their name. Don't tell me that that cant be done relatively easily. At least give everyone one opportunity to correct the problems created by the inability to add the tags in the past. Many guys are starting over and are forced to give up a player with loads of global points. It really sucks and should have been corrected by now. Hell the name bug thing should have been fixed we should not have to list such a thing as that. Ask yourself an honest question, at least for most players, what one thing has the most impact on the game and the flow of play what usually screws up the fun when the battle builds to a point and really gets good, what will always happen ,ARTILLERY, and everyone dies or runs like hell. We all start over trying to reorganize and plan a new strategy. Except for the commander who would miss annoying ,useless, worthless, f@#^*#g artillery. I don't know anyone that would say:"you know I sure miss that noisy ass artillery blowing my character to hell and back". Some will bark about the real battlefield again; this game is light years away from any real battlefield ask anyone thats been there.

Re: Official EA 'Issues to be resolved' thread

Yeah, I'm also unsure as to how much artillery actually adds to the game. It's a cool feature, but based on how much agony and annoyance it causes, I'd say the game would be better off without it in most cases. That said, I don't think it'll ever be removed. Perhaps it could be from any map with no jets (as mentioned above).

I also think that they're not correctly adressing the bunnyhopping issue. The problem is not so much people jumping and shooting, but people jumping and reloading/healing/dodging. Anyone who has ever tried to kill a medic at range will know what I mean. Most players will be hit, then automatically start leaping around and diving while healing and looking for you. It is extremely hard to counteract.

I suggest that reloading and healing be disabled while jumping also.
It would also be nice to see a more realistic jump-height put into place, rather than the current two-metre jump.
It is one thing to be attacked with bunnyhopping, quite another to be trying to hit someone who is using it to dodge bullets.

                          Problems that need adressing:
                          - AA needs to be able to damage a plane.
                          - Artillery needs to be less aggrevating.
                          - Bunnyhopping (not just bunnyhopping as an attack).
                          - the 50.cal machinguns on FAV's, DPV's, Vodniks, Hummers and AirCows (mec/china transport helicopter, for lack of the actual name) need to have their accuracy reduced. At the moment, those things are machine-snipers without scopes.

                          Things that don't need adressing
                          - Attack Helicopters.
                          - All other air vehicles. They are fine. Planes just need to be more hittable.

I read the interview with the BF2 guys the other day and the question of jump height was addressed. They stated that they could not reduce it, that the game was designed around it and it would screw up too much. The height of many structures built around it. What about some delay between jumps. A slight delay would totally remove jumping as a tactical issue.Think about it no one can jump like they have springs in their legs. You have to load up your legs to a degree. During the slight hesitation the enemy could kill you with ease. What do you think.

Re: Official EA 'Issues to be resolved' thread

I can see what they're saying about having it screw around with the game's dynamics. The only instance I can actually think of is jumping over barries (eg. the ones surrounding the forts in Gulf of Oman). I still think they should make jump height about the height it would take to get over some sandbags.

As for the delay idea, I'm not sure how well it'd go down, or work. Certainly something that hindered their actual ability to bunnyhop would be useful.

Oh, and another problem... Many maps simply have too many flags.
Anyone remember playing Gulf of Oman in the demo? That's probably the most fun I've ever had playing BF2. So what happened in the full version? They added two extra flags. Now the action is greatly divided, and the additional amount of vehicles takes something away from the map in general. The only times where the action is intense is when a team has one flag left, and the poor players are constantly killed by hordes of tanks and APCs.
I think some maps need to be revised in terms of this (eg. Daging Oilfields, Dragon Valley, etc.). A lot of maps simply have too many possible points of conflict and too many vehicles. There need to be less flags so that the action is more concentrated, and more fun.

Ok, this is a huge thread so I appologise if this has been mentioned like 100 times already. But the other night there was a player running around with us but his name was in RED as if he was the enemy. Also, he was listed as being with the enemy but nobody proceeded to shoot him. Anyway, not having seen this before I got a bit trigger happy and shot him.
I kinda thought something weird was going on but after killing him I then knew it, when he punished me for teamkilling. I appologised but it was all in vain.
