You can snipe from just about anywhere on Wake Island. My problem with the really good spots: running out of ammo, especially if it is difficult to get to that spot.

If you're lucky, you'll have a commander willing to drop supply on a sniper, so you can reload and then blow the crate up(so it doesn't give your position away). I don't find too many commanders who'll do it though, they're always dropping supplies to fix their emplacements---which should've been changed in the patch, imho.

If you're on the bunkers you shouldn't worry too much about ammo as theres plenty of support guys around, but if you're on the boat for a whole round then yeah, you tend to run out of ammo towards the end.

I guess I've been lucky with my commanders, they usually drop a supply crate onto the boat if one is available.

Acctually the sniping place ontop the bunker is quite bad
if you have a good sniper on the other team , he could pick you out easily

For me the best sniping place is the furthest from the action
you have to be good at bullet prediction and enemy prediction
also you need a place to cover after you shoot
For example, Us landed on the beach and are now going for the airfield
the best spot will be the sandbags near the mountian with a lot of grass and bushes
and with the type 88 Semi auto you can easily counter snipe snipers and Support guys
If your Very good Moving Targets easily go down

aye Man many thanks for that as i am a sniper and the only map i play is wake and never seem to be able to get many sniper kills opposed to other classes

o well I'm gonna try the boat thing sometime... I suck at piloting helos so I don't expect to get on... is there no way to do it with another boat?

first off, i skimmed thru the pages, and i saw at least 3 people banned
whats up with that?

but yar, the boats a good hiding spot, ive used it as my commanding position for some time now

but im not sure if its exactly a good sniping spot, sure you can get a few people sneaking along the beach, or maybe a few others, but i dont really think it would be a good point getter
theres too much stuff in the way

but i cant say too much, ive never sniped from there, infact now im thinking about it, ive never sniped in wake

nice guide,until now i found the best spot(for me) to rack up a few kills was the downed planes,prone at the tail end and you can pop ashots through the tail,there is a slit in the tail that gives a good shot and provides decent cover.

but again you can be flanked easy there,but good for a 10kill streak now and then.

but i will try those spots out as there are new.

I actually haven't sniped in Wake for a while, got bored of it after playing it to death...

I'll repeat that the boat spot shouldn't be used EVERY round, only if you are Chinese and one of the flags have been taken by USMC or if you are USMC and have at least one flag taken, preferably the airfield.

The field of fire from the boat is actually quite decent, you can see the entire inner shore of Wake, you can protect the arty and take down would-be flankers. Just remember to compensate for bulletdrop when shooting across the bay, I love shooting enemy snipers from 300m+ away,
they are so focused on the battle in front of them no one will ever suspect where you are, until you kill them a few times in a row of course.
