Hi, Sounds like you all have fun with EA! try this one i'm totally confused.

Loaded up the latest patch yesterday1.03, game play is crap slow and jumpy mouse control, pings have gone through the roof, done all the usual things to sort it out, defrag, disk clean and driver updates

Wiped the game off the hard drives and re-installed and loaded up 1.02, runs brilliant!!!

Does anybody else have this issue?????

If I remember correctly you need to have the Microsoft.NET framework installed for BF2, you wouldnt get it thru normal windows updates as its not a critical one its an optional update,,, try that.. ive run into problems b4 with not having the .NET framework installed prior to game installation

I did a clean install of HD and everything is running smother than it did before and the colors and the environment is great. I dont have anything to complain about, damn it!

back to square one. still dosnt work... well... it sort of works.... surtane maps make it crash to desktop(?) but others work just fine.

Same exact issue here.

1.03 is unplayable.

1.02 works perfectly.

Tried diff drivers and reinstall of windows/bf2.

Hey I feel for you I use 3 computers 2 of them I can´t get the patch to work right I get CD Key invalid I have tried everything I have read in various forums.On the different computer I can´t get the dam patch in either I haver tried almost everything I know and it will not work so I am in the same boat as you right now.

anyone got blank screen for very long when you load BF2?

yeppers, it conflicts if you change your moniter refresh rate AFTER you install the game...it messes with something...believe me i've done it before...

took me 2 days to figure out that it was the refresh rate...

this of course is on the desktop > properties etc...

by the way it DOES load it just sits there for five minutes...i didn't like that...:hmm:

do i need to install patch 1.03 using safe mode or administrator mode, or i can use normal mode for instalation? i have xp, service pack 2, direct x 9.0c

It needs to be the same account that you used to install the game which should still have admin rights.

Why in the name of God would you do a full reinstall of Windows only to reinstall the 1.02 patch? you're back where you started but if you had installed the 1.03 patch (without doing the 1.02) I'm sure it would have worked !

AFMAN10, It's not the answer you need to hear but Battlefield2 is a *very* sensitive game, to systems, software running in background and how it's installed. While you have found a way of installing the game you still will get problems until the day comes when you can just run the patch and it installs properly, with no error message and no cd-key errors.

I just feel that a full install of Windows is going to be the easiest way of getting BF2 to run properly.

i did that... a clean install of windows and the first thing (other then drivers) that i installed was BF2.

i dont see what the problem could be... i have a kick ass PC, i meet all the min requirements, i dont have any problems with any other games or programs, all my drivers are up to date. i've been working on PC repair and custom building for quit a few years now and i've never run into a problem that i couldnt figure out... but this is kicking my butt!!!

hi guys im currently having probs my self 'what a surprise lol'
i updated to 1.3 a couple of days ago but now every now an then i get connection to server has been lost i never used to get this b4 so i know its not a prob with my connection but some thing wrong with the 1.3 patch,
any help or ideas would be a great help as im ready to smash bf2 in to little bits of plastic as its gettin beyond a joke,
EA an DICE you really need to sort ur sh@t out as theres loads of peps havin more probs than b4,
next time ya rush a game out just to cash in on more money think about the probs that you cause us,the buying custmer,because of ur money grabbing polocies.
i for one will be not buying any more of ur **** products for the pc as there are just to many clitches with ur software an patches.
