    Can you confirm, did this turn up after being re-awarded the basic pistol badge in game since the patch, or did it just magically turn up on it's own?

        I got my Basic Pistol and Knife badges but not Veteran.

        I'm currently only a Sergeant.

        Will I run into this problem in the future? Will I become 1st Sergeant?

                        Well, i got the Basic Pistol, i have 43,000 points. Why am I not a first sergant when i have all the badges?

                                because the way it is currently set up, you have to have all the required badges BEFORE the needed number of points. So if you had gotten the basic pistol before the patch even with the 43K points...you would have been a 1st sgt, but the way they made it, you had to have all those needed badges before the promotion, which is now at 20000 points. Personally I think that is a stupid thing...I have mentioned it before so i wont go much into it.

                                Some kind of good news though, a lot of the problems have been compiled into a list and are being sent to the people who screwed up badly. one of these problems is this rank issue. you can check it out at http://forum.eagames.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=8239
