i guess i'm lucky, i don't have the pistol and knife combat badges and got promoted to master gunnery sergeant, but i won't be a sergeant major until i get them.

Now I thought the patch may have fixed this so I started a new game and was awarded my Basic Pistol Badge (this isn't the first time it has been re-awarded to me) but of course it never showed on stat sites and I never ranked up. To this day I think I have been awarded the Basic Pistol Badge at least 20+ times because when I am awarded the badge, it never saves in my stats.
So the question is, did they find a way to fix this? Will it ever be fixed or am I robbed from not only ranks, but from medals as well?
I got them both at the same time also, but i still got first sergeant

wait, in bf2 tracker, is it suppose to show u both basic and vet? or is it if u have the vet it will ust show the vet?

I can't remember if BF2tracker shows all your levels of a badge that you got for one area of the game. Example, if you have expert pistol I don't know if they will show basic, vet, and expert. I DO know that BF2 stat retriever will show you all the levels of a badge. If you look under my name in the stat retriever you will see I only have vet and expert pistol, not basic.

im at 49000 points, at master sergeant, and have all basic badges except command and engineer repair badge
now, HOPEFULLY i can get sergeant major, because i was one of the lucky few who got shafted out of first sergeant. now, when i get 50k tonight i had better get sergeant major and my last freaking unlock or im gonna throw my mouse against the wall ....and then proceed to buy the new logitech g5.
but yeah, i know that the pistol badge is the problem, i have gotten the basic one about a good 20+ tmies now whenever i have had to bust out the pistol a few times in a round. hopefully that gets hotfixed, i mean, for the rank it should be basic pistol or HIGHER check in the system to maybe prevent this from happening, but then again im sure it might be more complicated then that.

I believe the problem here is not only about getting same time the basic and vet badges. I was at 31k before patch. Also without basic knife , pistol and transport.
Yesterday played first time after patch. Got to Master Sgt in couple of minutes. Today I worked for those badges. I had only 25 global pistol kills and maybe 5 knifes. Well finally I got both basic badges plus transport after that.
I now have all basic badges. They updated in BFHQ also in just 2-3 minutes. After receiving them I played for couple of hours and got 300+ kills but didn't get any promotion to first sgt. :-/
I am very afraid that if you didn't have all basic badges BEFORE you played with 1.03 and reached 20k it's no no for 1st sgt...
