It basically boils down to one's point of view:

Point of View {A}:
"$30 is a reasonable price for an expansion pack, and I want the new features"

Point of View {B}:
"$80 to $90 (BF2 plus expansion pack) is an UNREASONABLE price for a 'Complete' game. BF2 was basically a Beta that paying consumers had to troubleshoot themselves then report back to DICE/EA."

I subscribe to the second point of view. It seems to me BF2 was rushed to release and at the very least SOME of the features in the "Expansion Pack" should be downloadable as a patch.

EXACTLY. You pretty much nailed it there. I would have gladdly waited till this winter or spring to buy a BF2 with all the promised features, instead of having to buy the game in halves (or 2/3 and 1/3 or whatever).

Not to mention, If you think $30 is reasonable for an expansion pack... then you need to look at the 'market' a bit better. You can either pay $30 bucks for an expansion that will likely have about 2/3 of the so far announced features along with numerous bugs and glitches (and probably, if PB doesn't wise up, rampant hacking and more statpadding)

OR

you can pay absolutely nothing for literally 10's of mods that will not have these problems. BF:A, FH2, POE2, Shattered Faith, PR, BF1918, and a host of gulf war mods just for starters, are all going to have an equilivant of content of the expansion pack, not to mention, with thier diversified gamer poplation, much less stupid statpadding, cheating, hacking (because only fans and enthusiasts of the mods play them), and im sure all of these mods will have much more complex and interseting gameplay than BF2.

Not to mention the whole if you pay them 30 bucks, they'll just keep shoveling out unfinished products on us. Even if you do think you'll like the content, don't buy it, at least at first, show them that we won't stand for an unfinished product. People don't reallize the power they have, they just need to get more organized... (lol we should make a gamers union somehow)

as for the stuf that they say it will come in exp. pack
1/2 will be missing and 10 times more of that cool stuff will be in mods

Meh. SF looks like the gameplay will be fun, and it has tons and tons of new crap, and TERROISTS WITH RPG-7S!

I won't be buying the expansion. EA aren't going to get another cent out of me until they get their act together and stop selling beta products. That means no SF, no Need for Speed Most Wanted. (played NFSU1 and NFSU2, NFSU2 drove me crazy getting disqualified, which according to EA it meant I was either cheating or playing in a disruptive manner, which was crap!)

So EA can shove their beta games up their ass because I'm not giving them another cent!

Nobody listen to the OP, he has no idea what hes talking about just the same ol BLAH....BLAH.... BLAH. Just go and buy the damn expansion. You know you want to....Just do it damn it....

P.S. I purchased 200 shares of EA stock back in April at $50.05 a share ( due to a small inheritance), its been up since than, and right now at $58.20.

The real world and the media do influence you to buy stuff, but in the end, you make the final choice of actually buying whatever it is that they were suggesting you to buy.

Suggesting this guy doesn't have a will is just plain stupid. He's making a choice in the end not to whine about a product that he bought and to not blame others for something he did.

You oughta just give it up now and return the game if you don't like it. If not, shut your mouth and play instead of whining about little bugs and exploits here and there. Live with it and learn how to counter all of that crap.

True. You can either pay 30 bucks for that, or get it for free, in 3 or 4 different flavors with mods.

Why would you waste your money? Anything a the expansion can do, a mod can do, as the expansion is litterally just a mod that costs money. If the mods don't figure out nightvision (or other stuff) by the time SF is out, all they have to do is get the dev team to buy it, then copy paste the code... or do something similar to copy paste to avoid EULA infringments, if there would be any in that case.

Hmm lets see I paid $90 AU for the game and I've had over 250 hours of game play (and I'm still enjoying it) that works out to be 36 cents per hour of entertainement, and the more i play the better value I get.

How bout you tell me another form of entertainement out there that matches the intensity of BF2 and is better bang for your bucks!!!

Dude it doesnt matter how much is it but it (must be resonable) if people like the game they will buy it no matter how much it costs and i think the price for it now when it comes is quite acceptable.
