Did you guys know that EA/DICE is raping the money out of you? An expansion pack thats 30 USD for not soo many new features is what it takes to make you go waste your money?

Raping the money out of us? Don't buy the 30USD expansion pack if you can't afford it. It's as simple as that. Nobody is forcing you to buy it and most likely there'll be no real "need" to buy that. Just like with '42, there were players for both versions (exp.pack/no-exp.pack) when they released the expansions.

I will probably not buy the SF expansion pack, but all with good reason. I did not pay 60 bucks to get a game thats still BETA, and with a handful of maps and exploits. Not to mention a **** AntiCheat protection called PunkBuster that totally ****s over good programs such as Diamond CS ProcessGuard!

It's not a beta. I haven't had any serious bugs since the last patch. Every popular multiplayer game has cheats and hacks implemented to them. PB or no-PB.

You guys have to show EA/DICE a lesson! Show them you cant be pushed around and raped of your money!

Why are you so obsessed about this "raping"? Who has raped you, how and when? EA/DICE by charging the whopping 60$ for a computer game that they FORCED you to buy?

Make them earn their money instead of slapping on a few extra stuff, stamping it with their copyright and trademark and shipping it out.

The way I see it, DICE has definetly earned their pay from BF2. Unlike many other fps-shooters where you just get new maps and new gfx, DICE actually made MANY gameplay changes and additions to BF2 compared to the original '42.

I agree that BF2 has issues, but most games do, That being said, I'm not gonna rush out and by the expansion until the original is Fixed(Friendly Fire Bug is my only complaint, for the most part.) I think EA should look at what Activision/Splash Damage did with Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory, they couldn't Finish the Single Player in time/ on Budget so they released the Multiplayer for Free. By doing that they probably will keep alot of there fan base until 2007 when RTCW2 comes out. Either way, it's our money and we will decide how to spend it. I agree with the Thread Starter, by not buying the expansion we would be sending a message(maybe).

EA/DICE always promise us a big sea and us, BF fans always are happy to swim in tobacco spit.
I'm playing BF for a few years and this doesn't sounds like something new, we still have lots of BF42 bugs in BF2, but EA/DICE has other priority's than FIX THEIR OWN MISTAKES, but they go on and MAKE SOME NEW ONES, hoping that we are continuing to be dumb and go buy mice, but have been promised an elephant. i wont buy the exp. pack when BF2 is still beta. i will try it, but i wont buy it.

this is a story waiting to repeat it self. Vietnam sucked and had no exp. packs, cos it sucked so bad.
millions of people bought BF2 just cos ton of mods will come for BF2 and support from mod community is so big, that ea.dice cant even reach their toes.

i have RTR but i don't know if i played it 10 times. i have Vietnam, but mostly played mods. i have almost 400hrs of playing time in BF2, it is fun, but it is also stab in the heart cos of the ea/dice just seeing $$$ in game that could be so much better, IF THEY WOULD MAKE A GAME THAT THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT. they still have time to deliver, what they talked about, lets just say we payed for a demo and waiting for a full game, that we will never play

EA's policy is familiar with this: they make a game, not bad, not that good, but good enough so pple will buy it. then couple of months later an addon comes out wich is almost exactly how u wanted it. i have always the feeling that a new game misses a lot stuff, but the add-on fixes that feeling.

every fu****ng game they do that : LOTR: BFME --> huge fights? my silky a** now, in the next game of BFME they do what they promised 2 yrs ago, huge fights. so ofcourse u think: lets buy that game, cause now its perfect, and thats what they do, put up a good commercial strategy.

they dont even have to hide their policy, strategy, (its so obvious) cause we keep tolerating it.
Unlucky for us, they make u to have the original to play the add-on , so here come the battle, combi packs where u think u have done a good buy on.

once i bought a battlepack of C&C ( i just wanted to get all the cd's again, lost a few) unbelievable to see was, that they took c&c generals pictures, screenshots for the cover and background, but it were all the previous C&C games before generals lol. now i know that those graphics are for the generals game, but another unfortunate buyer will think, wow that looks cool, and be very surprised if he see the old graphics of c&c (wich are still good, gameplay is the most important thing there) .
but still, it says something bout EA themselves and we do nothing.

like MS is doing, EA is doing that in the gameindustry, buying up firms for rights, people, then get rid of them so that they lost another competetor, until only them will be left. and then my friends, we are rly screwed, u wont stop gaming either , EA know that too, so they can do practically what they want... the futures bright, the futures EA.

im already on a flight to an unknown location, so dot bother EA to send some "though guys" :evil: :laugh:

Unbelievable, you just managed to bring up the world economy, 9/11, your retirement in a thread about an expansion pack for a video game! What next? does my 30$ for SF contribute to prisoner abuse in Iraq? is Karkand whoring the root cause of drug use amongst teenagers?

EA are doing well in game's if you ask me they are moving up in the chain with there game's, i have quite a few of EA game's like Battlefield 2, Burnout Revenge,Need for speed underground 1&2 and more.

They aren't asking you to buy the game, it's your choice if you buy it or not but at the end of the day you buy it for a long lasting entertainment, and I think EA and Dice are bringing a long lasting entertainment of game's to the community.

It basically boils down to one's point of view:

Point of View {A}:
"$30 is a reasonable price for an expansion pack, and I want the new features"

Point of View {B}:
"$80 to $90 (BF2 plus expansion pack) is an UNREASONABLE price for a 'Complete' game. BF2 was basically a Beta that paying consumers had to troubleshoot themselves then report back to DICE/EA."

I subscribe to the second point of view. It seems to me BF2 was rushed to release and at the very least SOME of the features in the "Expansion Pack" should be downloadable as a patch.

Well did you know you guys are playing right into EA's/DICE's hands. I will probably not buy the SF expansion pack, but all with good reason. I did not pay 60 bucks to get a game thats still BETA, and with a handful of maps and exploits. On top of that they believe they can charge 30 bucks more and rip apart another 2-8 million dollars in sales because of fanboys who are willing to buy anything instead of standing up.

You guys have to show EA/DICE a lesson! Show them you cant be pushed around and raped of your money! The fact is if you dont start now, they'll keep doing it in the future, which could get much worse by god knows how much... You realize if they dont make good sales on an expansion pack it means they'll rethink about the quality and time they put into building the game! It'll push for a BETTER game.

The fact is by buying the SF expansion pack you guys just show EA/DICE that they can pick your pockets clean for doing absolutely no work. Make them earn their money instead of slapping on a few extra stuff, stamping it with their copyright and trademark and shipping it out.
