Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
Now that only the driver counts when capping a flag...v1.03 "Super" Patch Oct 3rd
Re: Now that only the driver counts when capping a flag...v1.03 "Super" Patch Oct 3rd
It can't do anything except improve tactics and player skill.
People SHOULD be getting out of vehicles anyway to secure the area.
As it is now, everybody knows that if you hide when defending a flag...the BH/tank/APC/attack chopper will simply go away without securing the area, allowing you to re-cap it immediately.
Whenever I cap a flag, I make a habit of either requesting a UAV or getting out or having a squad member get out to secure the area.

It'll make BH whoring a whole new deal, but I'm interested to see how the challenge will play out....
We'll probably try to see what we can do, for a squad in TS together it'll be more fun than having guys staring at the roof with a wrench. I imagine 4 guys jumping out - 1-2 medics and the rest engys. Leave the pilot (squad leader) in the bh, along with 1 gunner (engy - just in case). Fly around the flag in a circle, allowing the 1 gunner to clear out any enemies. The other 4 cap the flag (4 on the ground should be fairly fast), and then the bh swoops in to pick them up.
Only real complaint will be the TK's from guys that jump to get in the helo and aren't hitting their enter/exit vehicle button fast enough :)

Actually they "fixed" the slow moving TK bug. Apparently you can brush up against moving vehicles and NOT be killed.
Additionally it looks like they are bringing back WINGWALKING from BF:1942. However, from their quote its look it might just allow us to stand on "slow moving vehicles" like tanks and APCs.

I would prefer if it were only on tanks, jeeps, mobile AA, and APCs.
I know it was fun in BF1942...but standing on a moving chopper or jet just doesn't seem right to me
I don't think that Wingwalking will really be a good idea with the BF2 physics engine. I also think that we'll be able to stand on a slow moving vehicle. I hope that it will not be possible to stand on the wings of a flying jet. But it would be very sweet if infantry could stack up on an APC, or a tank

I agree. So many times I wanted to catch a ride on a tank or get on the hood of a full HUMVEE.
I hope they don't allow you to WINGWALK on any flying vehicle...that would just be lame.

if the driver only gets the points, while the others have to jump out, this means all the passengers will only get capture assists and the driver will get full capture points, unless they tweak it so that you have to capture it within 2 seconds of when the first person enters the flag radius

Actually I believe they said that ONLY the driver gets ALL the points and counts for capturing the flag.
Therefore the driver would get 2 points for neutralizing the flag and another 2 points for capturing the flag for a total of 4 points.
His passengers get ZERO POINTS if they are still in the vehicle. Additionally the flag will turn with 1 person, the driver (takes about 30 seconds). All the other passengers won't count for the time it takes the flag to turn either.
Example: If you are using the "Support" kit providing everyone with ammo, you can have a chopper full of people who jump out to capture the flag, firing at everything in sight while they're out of the chopper for protection, and then replentish them once they get back in the chopper...
If you are a medic, you can do the same if those guys are wounded.
It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye!

Yep, a well placed Vodnik can take out a fully loaded BH - I love it too. Also note that the repair rate for engineers in a flying BH will be "tweaked" slower.
So I guess they can't repair as fast as they do today. Should be even easier to take them out without overheating.

hopefully it will just change the way BH people play as in pilots landing and letting people out at flags.
The worst case scenario is that nobody will go in the blackhawks anymore.
That is what is going to happen it will just be used as a taxi maybe sometimes you will get a few on the guns but no one is going to stay in the back of it, its a completly stupid thing to do as if someone is on the gun of the vehicle they will just get out and leave the vehicle and the driver will ahve to cover himself.
