This is why the game is so frustrating sometimes. When in a sniping position on top of a building, you are ALWAYS vulnerable, hence placing a mine at the top of the ladder to protect your six. Now along comes someone like this dork who, even though can clearly see that there is a friendly mine at the top of the ladder, chooses to climb it anyway, set off the claymore, then punish for a TK. Then he proudly states he will do it again. He, and those like him, are the reason why I don't snipe off of the top of buidings anymore and nor do I place AT mines, because the same thing happens there too.

Thats often tue but sometimes snipers go up a crane or a building that can house a few snipers and he gets there first from spawn then claymores himself in stopping the other snipers.

Now thats not fair either. if you do that you need to leave a decent amount of time from the game starting.

I've noticed that I very rarely get punished for TK's these days. They are always accidents, only occasionally from me not paying attention or being a little tense and trigger happy.

The funny thing is that sometimes I think I should be punished (I'm swearing at my own stupidity) and they don't.
Other times people will hide behind the burning wreckage of a vehicle I have just destroyed, or get shot down by a stray stinger and then punish instantly...

This is when I get a little peeved and will type some messages back, in global chat mode so everyone else can see how much of an idiot they are: "How can I deliberatly target you wil a stinger? Don't punish for accidents!"

However I do agree, a general "Page Up" policy certainly makes for more enjoyable, friendly gameplay and a warm fuzzy feeling knowing how much of a nice guy you are!

I rarely punish for TKs, as most of the time it's my fault for being in the wrong place doing the wrong thing at the wrong time. I did recently punish this one guy who deliberatly shot me. I'm pretty sure it was intentional, because he stared at me for about 3-4 seconds before he fired. Doesn't get much more blatant than that.

But yeah, most of the time I don't. I hate it when people punish me because they were next to a burning vehicle. And the people who still punish even after they've been revived. That's just too much.

Very true. At the start of the game I watch closely where everyone is going, and once I am convinced that I am alone at the top of a building, I will place a mine. I hate it when someone places a mine at the start of the game as soon as he gets to the top of the ladder, but intentionally setting it off and punishing is the sign of a personality disorder.

What needs to happen here is that people who TK should get kicked form the server with a timeout, say 24 hours. I think that people should be punished for mistakes they make!!!! And it will show in their stats. I have team killed before, in the heat of battle, it was a mistake but hey, live and learn. Now I pay careful attention to who I shoot at.

What sucks about my POV is that the punishing hurts the entire team…..

I've also found that 4 outta 5 times I've been teamkilled it was because of me just not paying much attention, but, i've played on a lot of servers that have auto-punish on for TK so it doesnt matter. I've found those servers to suck, I've been in a transport or something with a driver who was a complete blind fool and ran over a mine and fuked someone with like 3+ teamkills where I would definitely not punish. Or, some idiot in a transport is driving towards a spot clearly marked as being shelled with artillery where I think "k, hes gonna stay outside the zone and wait for the shelling to end then we'll drive in and get the flag" and the idiot just drives right into the shelling.

I had to get in on this thread. I rarely, if ever, punish and it drives me nuts when I get punished for stupid reasons.

I shot down a BH with 5 guys on board and in the process, it either crashed down on or my shots inadvertently hit one of my guys and killed him. I killed 5 guys and defended the flag, but got punished anyhow...... I made him aware that that is totally unacceptable.

On the other hand, I got punished for shooting one of my guys while trying to cap a flag. We were both laying there near the flag and I tried to switch to my medic kit to heal him. I accidentally hit the wrong button, fired, and killed him. Total mistake, but I could see how he thought I purposely shot him. I appologized and revived him, but he punished anyhow.

Considering that I am often close to the top of the scoring in any given map, it drives me nuts when someone punishes for what is always an accidental TK. I have never purposely shoot my own team and that is reflected in my teamwork scores.

Oh well.....

Last night I was on a server as engineer. I laid mines. squad leader picks me up in buggy. I VOIP him and say "watchout for mines" He proceeds to run over a brutaly easy to see mine and punishes me. He kills me on purpose again afterwards for said teamkill and I don't punish him. It's a sad world.

Me too, i'm liberal with punishings, only really do when i'm Tk'ed trying to get to a chopper/plane in the main base. But theres nothing worse than:

Bushers [Teamkills] 'Noobie that jumped out of tank'
Bushers: Sorry, I screwed up
You were punished for the teamkill! :wall:

I normally dont punish but if someone is really hacking you off, by punishing you for an accidental tk or a tk that was there fault; i say revenge and here is how. Join there sqaud so they show up green and from a little bit a way shot at them a couple times. They will undoubtedly shoot back let them kill you. Punish them -8 for them. Do this a few times and soon there score is 0 or below. Then tell them that is what they deserve for punishing tk's that were accidental or thier fault.
This probably isnt the greatest team strategy but it works great for noobs who love to do stupid stuff. Like the guy who follows you in as you put c4 on an unsuspecting tank and then doesn't run away and gets blown up as you blow the tank. Then punishes you for it. Or the gernade noob that was disscussed earlier. Other than this I forgive all kills especially when I am the noob that stands next to the exploding tank. I usually apologize to them because I know my stupidity caused them to lose points.

It is ridiculous this punnishing, I was playing on Operation clean sweep and i was piloting the helicopter then i had someone on the gattling gun and someone on the enemy team crashed into me with there jet and it said i teamkilled the person in the helicopter with me and they punnished me, his/her name was stryker_fin << absolute noob his rank is corp too.

Also i was playing in Sharqi Pennisulia like 1 min ago and i had the helicopter, i was on the U.S side and i came back to repair and i landed a little far forward and knocked into one of my team members resulting in a team kill, he punnished me for that too his name was mrdeath1994 or something another noob, i said the word ''idiot'' to him and got kicked off the server for using the banned word ''idiot'' stupid.

They should throw out this punnish system with a patch and if you team kill it just minus's a point of your teamwork. I don't punnish unless i get shot/blown up on purpose. Way too many noob's who get a laugh at punnishing.
