Re: Campaign to get EA to reduce the awards reqs

I don't really care much for awards, but I do want the big guns and at this rate I will unlock them all sometime in 2010 (yes I know, I'm not that good). If the requirements for weapons unlocks were reduced then I'd be a much happier bunny (no I don't bunny hop).

And before someone says "why don't you create multiple accounts and get the unlocks quicker", I chop & change the class I play in a single round. So if I'm Support and get Sniped, then I'll come back as a Sniper to Snipe the Snipin' git who Sniped me and I might want to get serious with the M95 so it is more of a challenge to actually hit something. :p

if you're playing this game for the shinies, you're playing the wrong game. stop w/ all these threads about making shinies easier to get.

timsgameonline, you need to calm the phuq down. you bring to mind a child on too much pepsi that has just discovered yu-gi-oh.

christ, the amount of moaning about something in a game that means sod all is amazing, just play the damn thing, infact can you just do a campaign to get rid of all the badges/medals system, i'm getting sick and tired of seeing idiots on a server sitting in a tank doing f-all just to get a crappy medal, or having tools join your squad only to have them run around with a knife all the time

          stats, boo hiss.

Re: Campaign to get EA to reduce the awards reqs

Isn't that why there's 3 levels of badges? You earned the first level badge, there you have it. Only the most dedicated players will have the silver and gold colored ones, and you WON'T - plain and simple.

As for the medals, not every soldier who fought in a real-life war was given bronze stars and infantry medals. Personally, I don't mind it. My awards banner is all filled up, and just because I don't have some shiny medal is simple, because I haven't met the requirements for it. No need to reduce them now.

Re: Campaign to get EA to reduce the awards reqs

im just happy to beable to get a good game, the rewards are a bonus, the rank points are fine look at some of the top player scores they will soon be up there, im on 44000 now just by playing for fun.

To many people want all the rewards to quick, as has been said play the game for fun and when you get a drumroll yay a bonus. :)

I got the legion of merit ribbon lastnight after weeks of nothing as I had all the basic badges etc, and yes I felt great a bonus after a good nights gamage with friends.

Did EA even mean for the requirements to be known? I think the award system encourages players to play roles they wouldn't usually play. It reduces whoring a bit...

No, the awards shouldn't be lowered, they are meant to show someone who excells in a certain area... Noone is ever really meant to get them all!

I'm surprised to see so many people are into shiny, but nonthless virtual medals. The unlocks are the ONLY real benefit from this horrible stats system, and even they aren't that great. The best battles I've played havent earned me much points.

I don't really care about the badges.
But I would love the ranks to be a bit easier to get.

I mean.. first rank: 500 points. second rank:1000 points. (first unlock). third rank.. 12500 points.. 5k would have been enough for the causal (though dedicated) gamer.. only the people who are semi-pro gamers have an interest span to take them to sergeant at the current rate.. I love the game but I doubt I'll ever reach it

Forget the badges and unlocks, 4,000 hours for a medal seems a teeny weeny bit excessive. Even the most Hardcore players are barely 10% of the way there, and thats ONLY if they have been flying a jet or driving a tank the ENTIRE time. :p

i don't think its unreasonable to have high requirments for stats but BF2 does go a bit overboard. In many ways i really think they should have simplified it all and just had a honour system similar to in AA.

Re: Campaign to get EA to reduce the awards reqs

I think it's fine as it is now, now you see in the game a nice spread of ranks and stuff, not everybody has already the highest rank.

And the game is only out for like three months or something, if it will be out for a year, there will be even a bigger spread, remember BF1942 has been played for years and years.

Only things I think is like impossible are some medals, those things are like the hardest thing and maybe they should change the limits for them, but actualy I don't care about it

Some players have over 700 hours in 2 months
That's playing 12 hours a day everyday. I'm guessing that this is some kid on summer vacation.. or a 40 year old virgin living in his parents basement.

but the stats will continue on into BF3.
Why would they? I mean if someone new to the BF series checks out bf3 and sees like 90% of the players with very high ranks and almost all the medals and unlocked guns.. I doubt he'll play the game long if at all.

go play a different game then necromancer.
Don't start attacking me cause I agree with him.
Yes I do understand that it should take time to get medals and ribbons and stuff.. but years to get? That's just retarded.

Maybe they should be taken down just slightly, because when you DO do the maths it does seem a little extreme.
                              What he said.

Medals arent for average players. If all average players got them where's the reward?
Everyone can't be uber leet.Think about it. No company would every sell a game with medals/ribbons/ect as rewards that would only be given to those who waste their lives playing a game getting really good at it. They want all players to play.... probably hence the 10 seconds in a parachute ribbon...

Im not going to even bother with the medals...theyre reserved for people how have no life

(not to be blunt but seriously...If you play this game for like 3 years just to have that picture of a medal in your stats then...well...)
