Campaign to get EA to reduce the awards reqs

Im not talking about the easy badges etc, but the '000's of hours and 'oo's of '000's of points for some is ridiculous and, quite frankly, not worth the time and effort. Something new will be out way before a living soul gets them!!!

Come on EA. I think there should be a campaign to reduce the ridiculous levels and that'll give us more incentive to bother to get them. Agree???

Re: Campaign to get EA to reduce the awards reqs

IT seperates to good players and the dedicated ones, from those who are not.

If the ranks and medals were reduced everyone would be master sgt of the corp, and have all the badges. Then where would be the point, and fun in the medals/rank system.

I think the requirements are spot on, because at the end of the day you dont HAVE to get all the medals to 'win' you just have to get the ones that apply to your playing style.

Maybe those requirements suggest they might not be coming out with a battlefield 3 for a long time.

Re: Campaign to get EA to reduce the awards reqs

on average I think people play about 4-6 hours a day due to work and school. At 6 hours a day to get 3000 hours played that's 500 days. That's over a year and a half.

F.uck that.. I won't be playing this game that long. I"m waiting for ghost recon 3 to come out.

Getting these ribbons/medals shows dedication... my a.ss! It shows how much of no life someone has. 3000 hours = 125 days of playing 24/7 ... uber geek, uber virgin, uber mamma's boy, ect..ect...uber ect...

but the stats will continue on into BF3.

Also 150,000 is not stupid, its a reward for people that put the effort in, and then other people on the server can think, damn i want that and then try really hard. Thus creating fun.

Re: Campaign to get EA to reduce the awards reqs

go play a different game then necromancer.

As jack said, your not supposed to have them all within 2 months, THAT would be stupid.

Theres three sides to it as i can see.

                    1. The medals are easy to get and you have them all within a week - Game completed you cry for a bit then go play a different game while moaning how short and crappy BF2 was.

                    2. The medals are hard to get and you have to WORK for them - Game not completed you cry for a bit then moan on how long and crappy BF2 is.

                    2. The medals are hard to get and you have to WORK for them - Game not completed you cry for a bit then go play some more and agree how awesome BF2 is.

Nice try meat, but i dont cave in that easily. :P

There are lots of good points in this article...
I've always thought that the requirements for medal's should be reduced, but after reading this thread I'm not so sure. Maybe they should be taken down just slightly, because when you DO do the maths it does seem a little extreme.

I agree that some of the ranks require too many points, but i feel the badges, ribbons and medals are fine IMO

Medals arent for average players. If all average players got them where's the reward?

Some players have over 700 hours in 2 months. They'll have over 4000 hours in a year. And I see people playing it alot longer than that.
