Ok heres a lame mans version:

      DICE - Game Developer
EA Games - Game Publisher, Publicity management, and of course customer support and or services offered with the game.

      1. Dice creates a buggy game.
      2. EA Publishes It.
      3. EA gets complaints and flames.
      4. EA sends all the info to DICE.
      5. Dice resolves the problems with game code.
      6. Dice gives the solution to EA.
      7. EA reviews, tests, yada, yada yada.
      8. EA releases.

Steps 4 & 5 take the longest because of our ever flooding complaints.

and then discussing how a team has to be managed !!!

i pretty much know that 99,9% of the poster doesent have the smallest clue what its like to create a game , run a company , publish or fix any bugs ...

so please ... shut the hell up already ...enjoy the game... be thankful EA and dice still gives a crap and tries to come up with something ... and dont spray around wisdom u know shyte about it !!!
Your right, though due to the fact that I work to develop server software solutions for MMC - Mercer I have a great insight to exactly how tough it is. Furthermore in university, the professors will tell you to avoid the Game industry because of its inheirent problems with their employees. Long hours, no benefits, and likely to make you a widow at the age of 25 provided you have gotten married or even found someone to go out with.

I probably have a greater understanding than you do, so you might as well pack your bags and keep out of this thread.

Right now the gaming industry is being forced to change. Ubisoft has created offices in 3rd world countries to take advantage of cheap labor and make them work long hours. EA's practice in america has already caused it to loose almost 6 million in revenues due to lawsuits being filed by their employee's. The gaming industry is harsh. Its not tough to program a game, but its the extra long hours making it better which creates the strain.

By all means go join the gaming industry today as of this moment, and you'll find everything I have said to be true.

I liked Battlefield Vietnam.... the 2-4 shot kills made it more realistic, the helicopters added alot to the game (Don't even mention Desert Combat... I know...), and the music was just flatout AWESOME.

Not to mention Point of Existence....

I honestly kind of miss Battlefield Vietnam; it was a fun game.

I would have hoped someone who is supposedly educated would know the difference between "your" and "you're" and "lose" and "loose".
