I have an audigy1 and the changes sound great. I like how my gunfire and local sounds are not as deafening.

I made the tweaks yesterday, but is it just me, or is every sound that was usually somewhat quiet, or not extremely loud, now, just cannot be heard? Certain sounds I remember hearing just weren't there any more, so I reverted back.

Oh, and what is this AL file? I'm a little confused.

well i tried this and it worked to get EAX running, but now it seems like whenever i hear the engine of the F-15 it crashes:laugh: .

this was after i installed some new X-fi drivers that also support Audigy 2 ZS cards. Also using the default BF2Openall.dll and the creatve one.

other than that the game is running pretty good now with some sweet EAX effects. However it seems like when im inside, i can hear a helicopter from across the map, outside its barely audible:hmm:

oh well, sounds cool so ill leave it at that

So how do I turn down the radio messages? I swear those things get so damn loud I can't hear things going on around me.

I think the 'Voice Over' volume slider is what you're looking for.

Are you talking about auto messages from the Commo Rose, or ones people say over VOIP?

I just found this thread, and have just tried it out.. One word, WOW! This is GREAT, I had no idea such a small thing could work this great!

I tested it on Dalian Plant, as you said, and the sound inside buildings are just awesome now! Proper echo settings, and better sound localization.

                              Thanks a lot!

Oh, btw, I use an Audigy LS (or LE, cant remember).

Re: Improve EAX effects in BF2!! (finally)

i have a few questions that i might have missed earilier in this thread.

is this the same fix for audigy 2 as the one that was posted in planetbattlefield that boasted" increase performance 600%"? see here:

                                http://www.forumplanet.com/planetbat...id=1704503&p=1

I had an x-fi, but wasn't impressed with the performance, my system would slow to 20 to 30 FPS all the time. I coulnt understand it , i have an asus mobo p4p8x, 2 gigs corsair ram pc4000, p4 northwood 2.8 at 3.0, visiontek x850xt pe, western dig ide hd. these seem like desent specs and sould handle all on high with at leat 50 FPS to 35 FPS in heavy loaded areads, then i read about x-fi issues with headphones but thats another story. any ways i reverted back to my audigy 2 and am looking to get the best overall performance. so hopefully this will help.

also i notice the latest driver on the creative site is dated 9-21-2005,
it states that it is a beta driver. does this new beta driver incorporate the fix your talking about? or will i still have to do this fix after downloading this driver?

                                check out the details:

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy unified series Beta driver with OpenAL support 2.08.0002
