Re: why don't people join squads?
Don't ask me, i always join or create a squad, it helps, creating a squad allows me to ask for UAV and Supplies.Originally posted by otorhinorrheaWhy don't people join squads, and what is your excuse?
BTW, how does somebody invite you to their squad? -
Re: why don't people join squads?
A few things keep me from staying in a squad:
1) a squad leader who constantly drives armor or aircraft
2) a squad leader who is afk and never spawns in
3) a clan squad that might be great but, even if they have room, kick any non-clanners from it
4) when there are 2-4 squads, but each only has 1 person (people who see other squads but make their own instead of joining an existing one are usually not very good team players)
If any of the above are true, I just don't bother. I join squads with 3/6, 4/6 or 5/6 people. I consider it an endorsement of the squad's quality if there are more than a few people in it already.Comment

Re: why don't people join squads?
I always join a squad or create a squad if each has 3 or more in it.
I leave a squad if I ask for orders and get no reply, ask for supplies or such and get no reply and no supplies.
It is nice when a squad actually sticks together and works like a team (medics heal, engy's repair, support re-arms).
No one seems to use VOIP that much though...Comment

Re: why don't people join squads?
Too often the squad splits up all over the map. I will stay with squads who stick together. I really enjoy squads who say "Defend here" and we do so for 10-15 minutes. Flag defense is a very effective tactic that people seem to have lost focus on with the round robin flag captures. If I can't find a squad doing this, I will either create my own squad or lone wolf. Sometimes if I defend a flag by myself I will do better than a squad that is spread all over the map.
The only other time I truely would be lone wolf is when I play the sniper kit. Unless a squad specifically wants a sniper overwatch.Comment

Re: why don't people join squads?
All those squads with one person in them are probably people trying to get squad leader hours to satisfy some of the ribbon requirements. Either that or they like being able to call for supplies.
The true lone wolves are going for the Lone Wolf ribbon. 10,000 hours as a lone wolf, and 100 invite rejections. Either that or they think using squad leader spawn points are like cheating.Comment

Re: why don't people join squads?
some people don't join squads due to idiot commanders who keep giving them orders at a bad time.
I was leader of a squad taking heavy fire defending our flag. We would have lost the flag if I followed this guy's orders to leave it. There was no way that I could have ran out alive and would have been a free flag capture for the enemy. This commander kept on asking me over and over and each time I said no.
The only reason why I join a squad is because I'm with my friends on coms, or being leader so that I can ask for supplies for my squad and all others around me. There is nothing like taking heavy damage to capture a flag and then ask for supplies.Comment
