If you have ever play CS 1.6 you would not like a one shot-one kill sniper rifle. Just too damn annoying. Everyone would use it
Looks like one more person that never played DC. There was one shot one kill in DC with a headshot and it didn't ruin the game......

Comparing sniping in BF1942 engine based games and sniping in BF2, are we? Tsk, tsk.

In BFV sniper rifles were also one head shot one kill. Never heard a single complaint about that either.

Yea yea, you folks bashing him saying that it's just a game are correct....However...What's the point in sniping if it's not one shot one kill? I don't care what the weapon is, at 500 yards a head shot is lethal. Make the weapon hard to use but make it powerful. The fact that it takes two shots to kill with most of the sniper rifles is ridiculous. Of course, this is the same game that allows you to "lock on" to an enemy aircraft and then fire a dumb heatseeker missile at it. So weapon lethality is greatly reduced in this game...

I'm ****ed of coz i have to shoot the same guy round after round.. I think when you're killed, that should lock your CD-key so that you have to buy a new game before you can play again(i'm sure we'd get EA to agree to this )

This would really make it more real.. actually so real that everyone would just camp for weeks and months like in real war. This would be so cool. And also you'd have to be at least a lieutenant to fly planes like here in Finland (so that would propably be at around 10,000,000 global points).

And what i miss the most is the basic infantry training and drilling... marching in lines and crawling around before you can even have a gun of your own. They really shoul've implemented that in the game .
I've had ideas like that before, but it should not be on the lameass BF2 engine. And it shouldn't come out for another five years.

If a game like this was going to come out, I would want it to have amazing graphics, not BF2 style, so please don't say "They really shoul've implemented that in the game"

Anyway, if your idea isn't sarcasm, I like it.. Except for the whole banning of CD Key thing I'm thinking about the training etc, maybe you can't respawn for another hour for something, and you get to spectate the battle.

Some are land based on a permanent status, some are land based when the CVW they are assigned to are in port.

Some countries that use the F-18 don't have carriers.

it's an arcade shotter man, balance is the first big point, the rest things like realisme aren't important for the game

                    Re: Unforgivable for Marines

I think most people get what I'm trying to say. For those of you trying to point out faults in my post, fine so be it. If it makes you feel better... great. I'm happy for ya. My point basically is this:

                    THEY SHOULDA DONE THEIR RESEARCH!!!!

It's very dissappointing that these flaws were there to begin with. They're trying to portray Marines, but yet have a mixed cadre of weapons and/or personnel. They're trying to add other weapons in as unlockables or SPECIAL ITEMS, probably meaning they should be more useful. Well... from what I've seen posted in these forums... they're not. The fact that something basic such as proper weapon ballistics has been implemented but wrongly. Such as the deviation modifier for the M24 which is .1 and .2 for the M95??? For those of you that have never shot a rifle, for those of you that have never served in any service or force, for those of you that have never shot a pistol... You'll never get it, and you'll never understand how frustrating it is to see minor, easily fixable, details like that and then have people act like that's just ok.

So far the comment about Operation Flashpoint is something I've been preaching for a while... it's the most realistic aiming system yet, and can be implemented in other ways as to not break possible copyright laws. Just the fact that people can jump, and in mid-air go prone, and manage to kill people with 1 shot is bogus. It should stand to reason that people SHOULDN'T be able to go prone in mid-air, and definitely shouldn't be getting the accuracy they're getting while jumping, but it's something that's not being addressed.

Don't get me wrong... I like the game, it's got great eye-candy and some aspects really rock... but it's sad that a majority of common sense things should have made it into the game but didn't.

                        Re: Unforgivable for Marines

I think its because EA is a bunch of retarded Rheses monkeys with a deformed brain the size of a walnut who wanted to spend as little money on this game as humanly possible. Hence , no research.

But don't worry, I am SURE that they paid all their employees working on this all the over time they deserved heheeh (yeah...sure....whatever)

To the poster of this thread, and all others involved in it who think this game is a sad, broken representation of actual military combat:

Currently, the only thing they have out is the .1 version of the mini mod, but the .2 version is coming out soon (like probly this weekend soon). Already in the mod, I think every gripe you mentioned is fixed, other than the marines having SF instead of FR, and m24 instead of m40, which are planned on being fixed in later versions, and/or the actual mod.

To adress each gripe more formally:
                            1) Not fixed yet, but is planned to be fixed in later versions.
                            2) Not fixed yet, but is planned to be fixed in later versions.
                            3) Not fixed yet, but is planned to be fixed in later versions.
                            4) I'm pretty sure that is fixed as of .1
                            5) Range and accuracy are much better, and their is blood in this mod.
                            6) Definetely fixed. As of the .1, all weapons have NO deviation (or so little i can't notice) when your iron sights are up. Recoil is made more prevalent though, so recoil messes up your aim instead of the stupid spread factor.
                            7) All grenades (UGL or thrown) are much stronger with much larger kill radii

Way to post something useful. Instead of addressing a pretty large flaw in the game (the fact that many sniper rifles don't kill even with head shots) you decide to talk sh1t to someone who used to risk their life to protect you and your right to be a moron. I bet your parents are damn proud!
