I had to register to post to this thread because of my guilt

The topic is killing swimmers... I was driving an APC through the water when I found a random enemy swimming, a good 15 seconds away from shore. He heard me coming and looked behind him; I pulled up next to him and slowed down. He stopped swimming and looked at me for a moment before trying to swim away.

I'm sure I saw a tear fall from his eye.

Needless to say I then shot him, and instantly felt terrible :hmm:

Well sometimes I try to be fair. One time I crashed our plane to our own tank who was hardcore baseraping, didnt get a tk and was giggling how he cursed at me.

I don't know, maybe it's just me... but sometimes like if I kill several guys in a row, kill a guy that's trying his best to take me down, or even if I kill someone by using a lame tactic because I have to (dolphin diving, etc.) , I'll get this guilty feeling ... almost like I want to show mercy and let them get me back.

It doesn't happen all the time, it's just like every now and then I'll feel wrong about it... and even like if I'm up on top of a building and a guy has his back turned towards me or doesn't know where I am and I shoot and kill him, I'll feel guilty... probably for not really giving him a chance to fire back at me or whatever.

Maybe it's just that I have too much respect for my enemy... or maybe it's that my feelings run so deep that they seep into PC games as well?

I feel exactly like you, I mean I know that I get very ****ing annoyed whne I', killed constantly, or bombed over again, so I do sometimes feel sry for killing someone, Especially if I kill them a lot of times in a row. Yesterday I just had this guy which I killed 13 times in a very close timeframe, by bombing, and after the 5th time I just bombed other flags hoping he wuldn't be there, but it's like the pore guy just went where I went. That must have frustrated him so much. Thats why I like coop games the most.

heh, sometimes i feel the same way, but since i was like that for a while, I think its fair that you stop doing so, at least in games, based on what i've learned, "doing a good deed will only backfire in the worst possible way" think of it this way, if you didnt do the "dolphin dive" they would of done it to you, and that guilt feeling will turn into anger. and they could of doing the same thing to do that you are to them, and they wont feel the same way, so why should you?

Nah i feel that way too and then think of all the times i have been spawn camped by a helo and it all goes away
