If someone bunny hops you have at least a chance to kill them or give their head an extra air conditioning hole, but try and hit some lamer who insta-prones in mid-air and kills you with one shot before you can even hit your mouse button. That's the most annoying thing is combat against.

this si my biggest problem i dont see bunny hoppers but ppl insta proning and rolling in mid air all at once just gets to me

The ground near the next bunny land is always the best place to hit as it's always an instant kill, but at times even I can miss if I'm tired or there are multiple targets in view.
Funniest one I had was on Zatar Wetlands, he bunny hopped around, I missed because I was tired, lazy...you know and he hopped around behind one of those small portable buildings on small bricks (the ones you can see under). He thought I couldn't see him, but I could clearly see his feet. I shot directly under the building and he flew about 50m into the air from behind the building.

I do love the ragdoll effects from big kills.

Oh I totally agree!!! It seems like nobody can shoot unless they are prone. This is one thing they need to fix, cause as soon as you hit the prone button your accuracy is 100% better. Once you hit prone it should take a while for you to recover. Thats one thing I do like better in HL!

For me, I really dislike seeing players Bunny Hop in FPS Tactical Military type games. It looks so cheap and arcade like. It always reminds me of Quake or CS or some other unrealistic arcade shooter.
Not that I want BF2 to be TOTAL realism, no, I didn't say that. I want it to be believable. But seeing players continuously jump up and down andup and down 10 feet in the air while shooting their rifle or grenade launcher or hand grenade makes me want to vomit. It is perfectly acceptable in Quake /Unreal arcade type games that have no basis on Modern Military style games ,unlike BF2.

You may say: Yeah, but they PUT that in there!"

To that I say: "It's cheap. It's low class. It works, but it makes you look like a no skill dork".

The only way I can see this changing is if EA/DICE lowered the HEIGHT of the jump. Currently the player can jump 8 to 10 feet in the air! Straight up and down! He jumps so high he disappears from the screen! He's using it to gain an advantage tha would NEVER be there in the first place.
I mean, if we can do that in this type of game, how come I can't have Jump Boots and Powered Armor and Heat Seeking bullets?

SO I ask you, dear Gamer, fellow player.........do YOU want to see this "bunny hopping" madness end or stay AS IS? If so, please post your thoughts here and let (hopefully) EA/DICE hear your voice.

All I would ask is to REDUCE the HEIGHT of the jump, and perhaps add a little more drain to the Stamina Bar so you can't keep going up and down and up and down and up and down..............forever. That's it. I don't want to completely remove the jump, AND I don't want to create a total REALISM game. Just tone this stuff down, it's lame, and a cheap way to fight your enemy.
One guy I was shooting at was a complete nutcase. He spotted me and started bunnyhopping, then dolphin-diving to the ground, firing a couple shots, then jumping to his feet, then to the air and jump-strafe right, then jump-strafe left, fire a few rounds, dive to the ground, fire a couple shots, runs out of ammo, then hops around like mad reloading.

I try not to waste my ammo shooting at him while he's jumping around, and carefully place my shots. His short bursts however overcome me and take me down.

I don't know if I was madder at being killed by this crazy ass bunny-hopping, dolphin-diving spastic player, or the fact that I was forced to watch this disgusting spectacle of diving, jumping and proning.

The fact is that it works. But man, is it the most retarded thing to look at...

                  Re: The "Bunny Hopping"

People can bunny hop all the freakin want as long as they CAN'T FIRE while doing so.

If you can jump 8 feet in the air, there is no way you would have ANY aim, so I agree with that it should be the equivalent of sprinting.

Nothing more annoying then coming face to face with a guy, and he jumps OVER your head, so it is near impossible to track him with your gun, and he shoots you from above. So lame.

I dislike the bunny hopping, but I don't blame people for using it. It does take some of the fun away for me when it seems like I'm fighting against a pack of the Super Mario Brothers.

Certainly this is the quote of a guy who gets his ass kicked if he doesn't bunny hop.
