Well, it's about maybe 100m max, it's not too long, it's Karkand, the most urban map out there. Anybody that i can see, i shoot, it's pretty good, got like 10-15 kills before a USMC guy climbed up and shot me. I guess next time i should guard it better, but it's much better being a Spec Ops with G36C up there, much more accurate.

When support I try to follow an assaulting squad and position myself up high with the flag about 100 to 150m. Inside 75m I do fire full auto.

Well i am glad i got a debate going about the weapon. Unfortunately i have to still disagree with full auto. Never in any video game i have ever played do you get better accuracy when going full auto. It is just a fact plain and simple. If you haven't tried controled bursts then it is hard to comment on it. But you should give it a try and found out what you like better because that is really all it is about. Finding out what you like and doing it. I would also like to say that i realize i don't have ranked experience playing support but it doesn't mean i don't know how to shoot a weapon in the game. Either way,

Well, yeah, of course burst is more accurate so you're right. BUt at the ranges i play at most people are less than 75 m away, i don't usually shoot people 100 m away, but i do. So at my range for me prone+ironsights+auto equals kill on a rooftop. I get a lot of kills, i die when somebody snipes me, throws a grenade up, comes up and shoots me to death. Great position, only problem is everybody knows about it after a while.

Ok, back on topic, it's obviously not impossible to take a BH down, but a good BH crew is gonna own a map. And even if you can take out a BH, you need a whole team that knows somewhat how to take out a BH. Becuase if you're just there trying to shoot it down, a good crew would take you out immediatly, butwith a team that can work together, it's a lot easier, you just have a couple of Mgs and rockets going. THe point is that if a BH is owning a map it might not be your fault, if your team can't work together to take it down then it's definetly not your fault, if a BH is owning your team, and it's up there for like 10 minutes, your team doesn't know how to take one down properly.

Who cares about the M249 SAW? We're talking about helicopters.

Don't try to hijack my thread again, or make another Why Does EA Hate America Post. :)

The BH should have severe weak spots, like the rotors. People need to be *careful* with a chopper.

Like a Sniper your soppose to reposition your self, I remember once my buddy (he served in the Marine Corps) told me that the avarage life span expectancy of a Machine Gunner was like 10-15 mins since they are a priority target by the opposing element.

As for chopers, I wish weapon damage effects the ability to pilot a choper. Yesterday while on Dragon Valley I fired 4 Carefully aimed Dirrect Rockets hits (1 in the rear rotor, 2 in the main hull, 1 Directly under the pilots left side) towards a Cobra. And It flies around as if nothing happen. Hell I dont even recall it having any noticible damage (smoke). I hope they fix it so being shot in the rear rotor or any other vital mechanical parts makes your vihicle difficult to regain control. And make the chopers a little more difficult to master would be nice since they are somewhat easy to learn to pilot, then agian I never piloted a real life attack choper so my oppinions are purely from what I read and what I watch on Discovery Chanel or National Geographics about military vihicles.

Rock-throwing illegal immigrants near Yuma, Arizona, forced a U.S. Border Patrol helicopter pilot to make an emergency landing this week, the customs agency said. No one was hurt in the incident, which happened Tuesday while the pilot was helping agents on the ground apprehend 17 people attempting to illegally enter the U.S., spokesman Michael Gramley said. They were on the north side of the All-American Canal, a large irrigation canal that runs from California along the U.S.-Mexico border.

While the helicopter was hovering, a group of 10 people on the south side of the canal began throwing baseball-size rocks at it, Gramley said.

One rock hit a rotor, Gramley said. The pilot felt a bad vibration and made an emergency landing about a mile away.

Real World: It takes a rock to bring down a chopper.

EA World: It takes two stingers to bring down a chopper. It takes two Abrams 120mm Sabot/Heat rounds to bring down a chopper. It takes dozens of 25mm Heat/AP rounds to bring down a chopper.

I just thought this was a funny story. Enjoy!
Now rock throwing at pepole that have guns is not smart if they wher in iraq they wold of got shot. here is a sampel video of bunch of morans doing that [ warning low gore ] http://www.thenetleak.com/kill.mov 7Mb

See, the problem with the "make the heli damage realistic" thing is that to balance it, they would have to make the heli's abilities realistic as well.. Which means they will just stand back a few thousand yards and pick you off before you can even see them to get a stinger in...
