Re: Helicopters: Real World vs EA World
Actually this entire thread is built up on a misunderstanding. The armours on REAL choppers is extremely strong. Possibly even stronger than what the game has. The actual facts are that the game doesn't simulate reality. If you fired a rocket at the main hull on a real chopper you'd either damage it extently, or cause only minor damage. If you were to fire it at a key component such as its tail, or primary rotar then the damage would be extensive to the point where it crashes.
The truth is any viable vital part to the operations of a vehicle can be easily exploited. Hell even a rock can take out a f-18 fighter jet, simply by getting it into the engine-intake path.
So basically yes a rock can take out a heli, but at the same time if that rock were to hit an armoured spot, the most it could make is a scratch. Hence why all this debate is almost pointless.
The helicopters in real life arent weak. Its just the exsposed vital parts to the operations of the vehicle that make it weak. Thats why when its a tank on tank fight in real life, they aim at the base where the turret stands, because they know there is absolutely no armour there. where-as if they were to hit an armoured area the most they'd do is a nice big dent.
