I suggest going to your motherboard and nVidia forums and search for BF2 connection problems.
Post in these forums and make some noise so that this problem gets fixed.

    nVidia network problem

    BF2 connection problem
I have the same problem and so does one of my friends....

We both have DFI nForce4 boards that are having this problem. He had an ASUS nForce4 board that he was having problems with and RMAed it and got the DFI.

What we are finding is that after BF2 runs for a couple hours, it screws with the TCP stack. If you ping your loopback, it will be fine before running BF2. As BF2 runs, your ping time to your loopback goes up and up. It will start to consistanly disconnect at about 21ms.

The wierd thing is, you will still ping yahoo.com at 20ms while your loopback will ping higher. WTF?

Has anyone opened a support ticket with EA over this? It is real annoying, having to reboot my computer to reset my TCP stack every hour of playing.

Also, I find it disconnects most when I am near armor for some reason. Other actions, like falling or jumping out of a vehicle will do it, but most often, it is when I am near armor.

Also keep getting the connection loss since I built my new pc and installed the patch:

      AMD 4400+
      DFI Crossfire RDX-200
      2 Gb ram
      ATI 1900xtx

Setting the affinity to CPU 0 worked for me. Seems like the whole dual core thang is messing it up as people have posted about on this and other forums. It wouldnt be the ISP when gaming on other games is fine and if it worked pre-patch so give the guys a break.

So, did setting your affinity work? I will try it tonight, see if it helps. Seems like a couple weeks ago I did that and it ran worse. But I will try again.

        DFI SLI-DR Expert
        AMD 170 Opteron
        1 GB OCZ

WOW!!! I played for four hours and no problems. I set my affinity and it worked well! One thing though, I needed to bump my process up to high/realtime. It was real jerky till I did that.

Great catch!!!!!! This needs to be a sticky for all us Dual Core guys.
