            RIGHT ON MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!
I definitely support this. I'm tired of being killed by people that have to reduce to *** tactics just because they have no skill.

My definition of "skilled player" certainly doesn't include someone who has 13,000 some kills, but over 11,000 of them are in armor. LOL While I have no idea how you can get 11,000 kills with armor, and only 700 deaths, I guess I gotta respect it... but man, you really suck in anything else. 3.30 KtD...

If you're one of them, make your statment here.

Out of respect for my fellow TG-player, I

                  1. Will not bunny-hop.
                  2. Will not bunny-prone hop.
                  3. Will not camp spawn points.
                  4. Will enter UCBs only to destroy CO assets.
                  5. Will respect specialty squad assets.
                  6. Will not intentionally engage in suicide tactics, ramming or otherwise.
                  7. Will not punish accidental TKs.
                  8. Will not Instant Vertical Capture/Neutralize (IVC/N) apparently undefended flags with the H-60 Helo (Black/Sea Hawk)

                  NOTES:
                  3. Taking advantage of a spawner's disorientation.
                  5. This point doesn't say you'll never under any circumstances take jets when a jet squad exists. Exceptions exist. It's just saying you'll respect the intention and organization of specialty squads and the assets they are organized around.
                  6. Stuff happens. OUR stuff is always an accident.
                  8. If there's no enemy around - that's different. (Why get out?) But if the base is occupied, use the H-60 as a transport and cover-fire vehicle. Have the troops get out and take the flag.

Again, these are not rules everyone must follow - just opportunities for us to state we agree to these guidelines out of respect for our fellow gamer. You should not feel compelled to sign.

                  Item 6:
                  Original wording:
Will not intentionally engage in ramming/suicide tactics.

                  Item 8:

Points out that the distinction made in the notes should be in the list item. The most anyone signing this list should really be agreeing to is to not IVC/N defended flags. If anyone chooses to go beyond this and not IVC/N at all - that's above and beyond this agreement.
It is left up to the discretion of each person to decide if the flag is undefended. This is an agreement, not a rule, and is a personal statement of respect by each signer. Therefore, we'll assume they take adequate measures (as moved by their conscience) to ensure there are no defenders.

If the other team has all of the capable flags, and the only one left is in the one that is un-capturable.. they arn't aloud to attack it? no. They can whore it all they whant.

It helps the commander control things. He's not going to expect a jet squad to take a flag, but he knows he can tell the squad to patrol around a couple flags looking for armor to take out to help his ground troops.

It keeps squads together. Ever been frustrated because your SL was flying around in a jet, not helping you accomplish your goal, and depriving you of a place to spawn? Keep your spawn point on your SL and find yourself removed from the action and standing around at an airfield?

It prevents TKers. If you are in that air squad, you'll take turns flying with the other people in the squad. Wouldn't it be nice to know that when you get shot down you won't have to worry about a dozen people camping in the hanger spamming their "E" key? It's too bad people didn't learn to share when they were young. Wouldn't your team be more effective if those dozen people were out trying to take flags? Heh, maybe your team wouldn't be pushed back to just the UCB to be spawn camped if everyone was out there fighting.

If you and the other pilot are in the same squad using VOIP, you can help each other out. "I have a MiG on my tail, can you help me out?" "Watch out for that AA site at the SE flag, it's been firing on me each time I make a pass" "Go finish off that tank" etc.

Sure, gameplay like this isn't very common on ranked servers, if it happens at all, but the contract wasn't written with the ranked style of gameplay in mind. There are people, as hard as it may be for you to believe, that enjoy this style of gameplay. We have our own little sandbox to play in and have fun :)

Wow. Quite a lot of responses to this, both positive and negative. I guess that is okay as everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I do need to agree that I find the poll options a bit slanted. It's always irked me to see a poll that essentially makes you pidgeon hole yourself as either a "good" person or a "bad" person. It would have been more congenial to provide options that were neutral.

                              In any case.

As the founder of Tactical Gamer, I feel the need to stress that our community was created for a particular type of player and that it's really not for everyone. Most of our membership consists of players in their 30's and 40's and in many cases those individuals are active or retired military or have law enforcement backgrounds.

We strive for tactical play, teamwork, and strategy, but not to the point where simply winning is the most important achievement. How you play is as important, if not more so, than if you win.

Our rules (that were lifted from the TG site and posted in another thread) as well as our Gentlemen's Agreement are geared around our specific style of play and are really not for mass consumption by the greater BF2 player base. These rules encourage players and squads to win based on having better combat tactics and strategy as opposed to video game tactics and strategy. We do not endorse exploitation of flaws or bugs in the game, nor do we endorse capitalizing on potentially overlooked functionality within the game.

A lot of people say that DICE intended this or that, simply because "this or that" exists in the game. If you want to follow that logic, you must agree that DICE intended for certain video cards to have problems causing people's screens to go black. And that DICE intended for x% of players to crash to desktop after 15 minutes of play. You must also admit that DICE intended some players on your team to show up with the opposite team's color. After all, it's in the game so they must have intended it to be that way. If this sounds rediculous to you, it should. But it should also make you realize that just because something is in the game, or possible within the software construct of BF2, that it may or may not have been intended to be exploited.

Based on the responses here it is pretty easy to gauge the percentage of younger players vs. older players based on their methods of response rather than their actual gaming preference.

For those that are interested in our style of play, the responses from the less respectful crowd should serve as more inspiration to try this style of play as they are representative of the behavior and attitude we do NOT allow. In addition to the teamwork, strategy, tactics and honorable play, we also require respect for one another.

In closing, I would like to apologize for the author of the poll in the choice of options, but try and focus on the message rather than the way in which the message was presented.

Good post. It sums it up for me. While I enjoy and partake in your style of play, I don't like people coming on here and saying others are "noob" for playing a different style. It's mostly kids who are pushing that attitude, contrary to your statement above.

Based on what I've observed here, the people promoting this code of ethics are more immature than the people who prefer to play with 'dirtier' tactics, which sucks for you guys because that's not your style.
