Most of you people who bash the US either forget about stealth or have no idea what it is. In a mock dogfight an f22 took down 15 f15s and the pilot called it "too easy."

Stop living in the 80s people, its not migs 29s and f15s anymore. And faster does not automatically make a plane better. An f22 or even a f14 with its phoenix will pick off a mig29 from over 20 miles without even being detected, which is usually how dogfights work in real life these days. Hence why the US airforce decimated the iraqi air force with mig 29s in the gulf war, which actually had pretty good soviet planes. And that was without the f22.

If this game was 100% realistic as far as technology ea would be bombarded with OMG WHY IS AMERICA TOO GOOD emails. It would just be one person calling in an airstrike and B2s leveling everything while the iraqis try to lock on with a million radars.

Actually stealth fighters/bombers are more effective against countries like china and russia, not so much against 3rd world countries who cant even shoot down regular fighters and bombers...

The russians dont have the financial means to develop an effective method of detecting stealth aircraft, let alone create a stealth plane of their own. The radar signature of an F117 is much different from a B2 bomber or Raptor. So a method of detection that works on an F-117 wont work on a B2 or Raptor which are MUCH more advanced.

Actualy, the F-22 is stealthier then the F-117... It's got a new radar-absorbant paint job, no need for all those silly-ass triangles.

pfft. They only had about a dozen 29's. and they weren't gonna risk them vs several hundred aircraft + AWACS. They didn't get owned. They didn't even fly the things in combat.

As for the tech, put on a clean pair of underpants and get over it. Having uber stealth fighters really isn't a lot of use in today's scenarios. The US hasn't been involved in a stand up war since WW2 and there's no real prospect of one in sight. Contemporary technologies in aircraft do little to help the US prevail over the middle eastern irregulars they have a current interest in.

Anyway. it's a troll post, and doing well. If the game differs from reality, then it's for balance and playability. Personally I just think EA hate anti air gunners.

The raptor project was almost canceled by the way. And the Commanche project too. Why? Because there's no need for a new expensive plane when your old ones still do the job and you have a huge deficit. Only reason we keep making new planes is people who keep the hope of new War alive and people who create these new planes and heli and profit from it. And I dont see why they do.

F/A-22 was never going to be canceled, it had it's numbers reduced. The Commanche was canceled.

We no longer use the Phoenix, and it and the F-14 were detectable when in Radar range, which if the F-14 is firing from 20 miles out, it was being tracked by the target aircraft at least 60 miles before that, and tracked by ground based radar about 180 before it launched.

The Iraqi Air Force used Mig-25's and Mig-21's, and some F-1's. They had poor equipment and even a worse doctrine for air combat.
