The M95 was my second unlock, and I regret it... cause it is SO inaccurate... simple shots with any other gun are missed with this weapon. You need to be much closer, so close that teh report of the rifle would easily give you away.

In Sharqui (sp?) While on top of the TV station, I could pick moving targets coming over the hill that isd to the left with the other rifles, but with the 95 I cant reliably hit a prone target. It is absurd.

Actually to the chest no but one clear shot to an enemy head does kill him.

Yeah, sure the M95 is underpowered but complaining that BF2 is unrealistic is an exercise in futility. I bet if I shot you in the face with a pistol once in real life you'd be long gone. OMG TEH M95 is 50 CALIBARRR!!!!1 So what? Try getting shot by an AK47 at point blank range in the chest (body armor or not) and see what happens.

We call 1-hit-kill-peroid guns noob cannons. Rather, I'd make it accuracte enough so that a headshot means a headshot. That way noobs can't just go for the chest, but if you can hit someone;s head, have fun!

              Re: Thoughts on the M95

Rifle is great up to about 200m. My main beef is theres some clipping issues, say your view clears an object, only to find your bulllets hitting the object, that and really, as somone pointed out the deviation on the thing is non random and will always veer to the same way, meaning you can aim dead on a prone target 230m away (facing down on him center mass) and miss miss miss miss miss while prone.

But, at closer ranges the weapon is fcking beautiful. No complaints about its stopping power. If you hit to the chest you left the guy with 5 life. He is as good as dead.

Suck it up and take the assist kill =P
Your better off doing that and moving right on to the next guy in a big firefight, than trying to finish him off if you miss the head.

That said, if you practice, youll find yourself hitting headshots very consistently. i suprised myself recently.

                    umm... okay then.

Guns are designed to kill, as you so nicely said with the AK47 at close range. Yes that will kill you.

But a 50.cal round is so much more powerful at longer ranges, and close. Sure, the AK is accurate, but can you kill someone from 1km away with it? No, but the Barrett can. The sheer size of the round with that amount of explosive in can sure propel a bullet damn far, and accurately.
I have a 50cal round in my bedroom. Its huge compared to the paltry 7.62 (M24) or the 5.56 (AK47). Imagine that ripping through your body from 1km away. No thanks.

But then again I'd say no to an AK47 ripping through me.

But the point of the sniper is to snipe, not to get so close the enemy can see the whites of your eyes.

                        Re: Thoughts on the M95

so thanks for that info. now I know how big the 50cal is in mm.

                        so we have
                        12.7mm - M95
                        7.62 - M24
                        5.56 - Most assault rifles.

There is still a big difference. The bigger the bullet, the more damage and the further it can go due to the amount of gunpowder in it.

I unlocked the M95 and at first I HATED it with a passion .... I do use it now over the MEC and Chinese Snipers but I wil always take the trusty M24 when playing US.

Actually the AK47 has a 7.62 size bullet, the AK74 has the 5.56 bullet.
As for everything else, no game is 100% realistic, but you'd think by having an unlocked weapon would be alot more powerful in the game. Why have the M95 to be unlocked only to find out that it does the same damage as the M24? Thats just about the stupidest thing i've ever heard. EA defanetly needs to fix the issue. I garuntee (sp?) that when shooting the .50 cal on top of the humvee, it kills you real quick, so why is the M95 (who's caliber is the same) have the same power as the M24? Why go through all that when you can just keep the M24 and be more accurate since the damage is the same. If you want to talk about realism, the M95's .50 cal round is larger, therefore much more stable than the 7.62, so why isn't the M95 more accurate??? Just something to think about...........

many weapons in the game that fire the same rounds but have different power. its game balance. unlocks are not meant to be more powerful, just different.
