Will you leave BF2 when Quake 4 hits?

I'm not a fan of deathmatch games at all, which unfortunatly is what q4 is going to be mostly initially. But, I have a strong feelin' that yes I will leave. Its going to depend on how they work out the CTF side of the MP. I've been a huge fan of CTF for what feels like centuries :)

And where there is Quake CTF, there is always a Fortress Mod to follow.

BF2 is getting lame as hell. No squad play,tk pun's :blabla:. If the patch is what is talked up to be. I might change my mind and become a BF2 Veteran.

I dont go into the crazy shooot, jump, jump, shoot, bounce on thing, rail gun, jump, shoot shoot, die games. Give me a tactical shooter any day .. i.e. R6, OPF, AA.

If you ask me BF2 is almost like the love child of Quake and AA. With the stronger genes being on AA's side :P

If Quake 4 meets or exceeds the fun-factor set by Quake 2 (and mods), then I would consider quitting BF2. Holy hell, that was a good game. So many memories.

hehe yeah, that was a prety funny game.

one of my fave old school fps games that i don't think got a lot of attention was Rise of the Triad. that game was awesome. i remember a big thing for that was that you could shoot people like in the leg and they would fall down and beg for mercy. i think that was the 1st fps that you could hold 2 pistols/uzis at once.

Yep, that was a big deal. Two uzis laying waste to enemys.

i will leave vanilla bf2 right when forgotten hope 2 and NS source come out. right now i dont even play bf2. just forgotten hope on bf42 engine and natural selection. no other games. period.

Enemy Territory Quake Wars looks very appealing. The graphics are stunning and I like the idea of two totally different teams (humans vs. Strogg). The player cap is a bit of a letdown tho: 32.

I think the BF(1942,V,2) people are a different breed. You can only run and gun for so long before it gets boring. I think every BF person goes into a game hoping to establish some sort of order and work as a team. Thats the lure of the game.

Ok, maybe not every person........but most I hope.

Well put. I feel the same way. That's why Armed Assault (the un-official OFP2) might be another game that can lure me away from BF2.
