Will you leave BF2 when Quake 4 hits?

I like BF2 for it's large play areas. As Q4 is using the Doom3 engine I don't think this will be one it's major selling points (just a guess). So, no doubt I'll give it a shot, but I don't think it's gonna be a big pull for me.

Also this quote from a playtest: "From what we can tell, you'll be well served in Quake 4 by classic deathmatch skills such as keeping an eye on important items and weapons and controlling them by snatching them up at respawn" - that kinda put's me off. I've been doing that for 10 years and am pretty bored of it now.

Id would create hardware straining games that would try and force people to go out and buy top end video cards.
I played quake 2 on a p120 with 16 megs of RAM, which for the time was a really crappy computer, and it ran better than BF does on my brand new £1000 beast.

I won't leave BF2 for any game in particular. I play games untill they lose their appeal. As for upcoming games...Quake4 will not be the top. Cod2 will be one for the books, but the one that will be the true trend setter is going to be Unreal Tournament 2007. The new engine is suppossed to be "UNREAL"!

Here's a little link for ya! Check out the screenies of Malcolm at the bottom!

BeyondUnreal is the Unreal Community's favorite source for news and forums.

the only game remotely like quake i like is unreal namely unreal 2007 which is out before long.

But i would never actually plau unreal 2007, but i like it because of the new engine which can be used for lots of good fps like Americas Army and countless others. The unreal engine really does own because it can create breath taking graphics and awesome fps with the minimum of hardware.

Hell yeah. I'll be playing a good bit of Quake 4 I hope. Starting to get a little burned out on BF2, and since I've not found a unit of people to play with as a coordinated squad, etc, it's just one big shooter with cumulative points.

no, you play Quake to relieve the stress created by BF2.

I think the BF(1942,V,2) people are a different breed. You can only run and gun for so long before it gets boring. I think every BF person goes into a game hoping to establish some sort of order and work as a team. Thats the lure of the game.

Ok, maybe not every person........but most I hope.

I have been hooked on battlefield since it came out.
I'd would have liked to see a bit more realism in the BF series.
                        I don't like the Q3/UT games anymore.
I also don't like the Ravenshield/Rainbow6 stuff either.

I really loved OFP and I am looking forward to Armed Assault.

I think the original poster might have meant "enemy territory: quake wars" (which I think is based on the DOOM 3 engine? [or quake 4 maybe?] dunno).
