try to kill more people than they do to you and have a good time doing it. your not getting any 'real' rewards, the only real reward is being entertained and having fun.
alot of people do alot of stupid **** on purpose, regardless of how it impacts their stats, they are having fun, I am one of those kind. do I have good stats, i guess if you want to call it that, 3.5 kdr thoooper, but that doesn't prevent me from doing stupid **** for fun. im not playing for that number though, i dont avoid maps that dont have **** that is more my style, i actually spend more time on them than anything for some ****ed up reason, and not on purpose either.
honestly, i've never played a map in any fps that i played in and gotten frustrated about it (Aliens Vs Predator, Unreal Tournament, Tactical Ops, Desert Combat, BFV, BF2). i had fun, if you have fun, the kills and all that other happy horseshit will come to you on their own.Comment

yes but there are some deaths that are not associated with a 'kill' (when you kill yourself) so the true average is probably around 1 (maybe less)Originally posted by KompNo, because if someone is revived it counts as a kill but not a death. So the average would be above 1.
but I still dont think KDR is the best measure of someones skill, I think the truest measure is points/minute and teampoints/minute (or per round).Comment

mine is well under 1:1
i think im about .5:1
so i die 2 times, and kill 1 time...
but i do lots of medic helping people and fixing vehicles with the engineer...
Also i like to defend a flag once i take it...
i try to play in a Team way...
So my points suffer, but i have so much more fun this way... so its totally worth it for me...Comment

Aye time in kill-machines like the blackhawks and sometimes the tanks (even on karkand a tank can get shut down FAST by a team that is trying fo rit) and time doing 'not killing but you can easily die anyway' stuff means the straight K/D ratios don't give all that good an indication of how good you are with your gun, and even the weapon-specific stuff isn't all THAT good (if you only use the knife to backstab, you'll have a high ratio for that, whereas it is easy to get a not too good ratio with the assault rifles because of 'killed during travel' type deaths as both assault and medic (spawn into arty, idiot transport driver runs over friendly mine, transport gets bombed/rammed, your 'chute fails while base-jumping...).
Pretty much, if you're primaraly a footslogger and don't comm much, keeping yourself around 1 is pretty decent, it means you're probably a pretty good shot when you're shooting and you probably are spending a decent bit of time getting shot up earning team points instead of kill points. If you are always in the armor/blackhawk/bombers then you should have a much higher score, of course. If you can get 2:1 out of mostly infantry, you're doing pretty good for your team, 3:1 is great. If you're at 3:1 and your Armor time is almost equal to your Playing time or something like that, you probably suck :>PComment

Same here...getting better all the time.Originally posted by shadow_wolfI got a 1.3 k/d ratio. Its getting better all the time.
I was getting owned before my first unlock of the L85...medic unlock. Took me a week or so to get used to it. Before: .90 K/D...now 1.1 getting better every day.
I'm shooting...literally :) for 1.5.Comment
